Ive sat this morning and had 3 text from friends to say they have tested positive, another two texts from people with relatives that are positive.

two work colleagues are positive

with everyone isolating, their will not be a need for a lockdown as it will happen in anywise with everyone ill or isolating

@liveforsummer household contacts are only advised to isolate according to the Scottish Gov website.
“If you’re identified as a household contact of a positive COVID-19 case, you are advised to self-isolate for 10 days - irrespective of vaccination status, PCR test result and age.”

@liveforsummer

But only the people with a postive test have to isolate not everyone, even at a million a day then that is over 60 million not isolating. And those that have to isolate o ku do for ten days.

Not in Scotland- household contacts have to isolate too so could rack up the 10 day periods especially in larger families

My state in Australia has strict close contact and isolation rules. You only have to be dining at a restaurant or cafe at the same time as a positive case to be deemed a close contact and have to isolate for a week. Even the Australian cricket captain has been caught out! It’s going to be unworkable pretty soon.

There can't be a lockdown without financial support, Boris won't reinstate furlough because, A) He's a prick and B) he's spineless.
Hence there being no "official" lockdown.

@worriedatthemoment no I currently have covid so have closed-but no financial support to do so :(

That will really put people off. I wouldn't go to a cafe or restaurant if I thought that could happen. It was sort of happening here when we had the contact tracing app, hence why people turned it off.

Vaccinate teens and kids but abolish isolation.

@JudyJudyJudyDench thats crap
I found myself out of a job first time round as new in and pace closed took me ages to get another job as most places closed down and we used credit cards to survive
Even now i only have a job until march
My ds 18 doing temping as saving for uni , if we lockdown he won't be able to work and won't be covered for payment and without money we simply can't afford for him to go to uni
They have to realise the financial impacts , for us even making the stupidly high interest credit cards drop them would help us massively
With current jobs if we can keep them i reckon it will take us 5 years to be back in the black again
The financial impact on so may is so hard , its fine for the lucky ones who were furloughed on full money and saved the communte , work coffees etc
For the vast majority it was not like that though

I hate lockdowns but i think i would rather a short lockdown and payments for all those affected than see people cancelling and business not having money coming in or having to close as too many staff off sick etc
Just allow everyone to have a small household bubble of 3 /4 other households , then you choose if you mix
My dh would have to work though anyway as his job is required going in houses to sort issues that can't just be left and many others are in the same boat
But im seeing more and more people and organisations cancelling things
