I never felt ill at all, some people have been bedridden for a few days. All you can do is go by how you feel.

CheesyFootballsAreEvil · 15/12/2021 10:08

You won't know until the time. It can come on suddenly or not at all

MissSmiley · 15/12/2021 10:08

You'll be fine, I don't know anyone who had side effects after Pfizer

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 15/12/2021 10:09

Was the following day for me. Just one day.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 15/12/2021 10:09

I had Pfizer - felt pretty ill for that one day.

That was my booster after 2 x AZ and having had the virus right at the beginning of the pandemic

Corbally · 15/12/2021 10:09

I had mine at noon last Friday, was starting to feel achey and exhausted by 8 or 9 that night, and couldn't get out of bed the next day, had to cancel everything. The day after that was a bit better, and I was pretty much fine again by the end of the weekend, bar a sore arm.

Yes, I went out for lunch immediately after mine, and then went to buy a Christmas tree and had a lovely time. I reckon it was nine or ten hours before I started to feel unwell, and the following day was the nadir.
TrivialSoul · 15/12/2021 10:11

I had Pfizer booster and flu jab at the same time and was I'll from about 3 hours after the vaccines for about 24hours.

DappyApple · 15/12/2021 10:11

Nobody can say for sure, Dh had his booster yesterday at 10 am.
(Had no side effects after 1st and 2nd) but he was feeling pretty rough by 1pm. He was complaining of a headache, temperature and feeling dizzy. He’s been tossing and turning all night but am assuming he’s not too bad today as he’s gone to work (I slept in the other room)

His pal was feeling rough within a few hours and was quite poorly for 4-5 days.
I’ve heard lots of people feeling worse with the booster than with the original vaccines but others haven’t had any side effects at all.

So it really is pot luck. If you wanted you could take some paracetamol as a precautionary measure.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you!

InTheLabyrinth · 15/12/2021 10:11

DH would have been fine for that: booster Fri PM, went to bed Sat PM.
I'm hoping I'll be fine after tomorrow, as I've got the kids on my own for 3 weeks after my booster...

CopperLily · 15/12/2021 10:11

I had a Pfizer booster after two AZ and didn't have a single side effect from any of them. Except a sore arm after the Pfizer if that counts, but nothing paracetamol and ibuprofen didn't sort.

Cornettoninja · 15/12/2021 10:12

Both myself and DP had pfizer around lunch time and the worst of it hit the following day, just feeling fluey really. It was gone by the next day.

I think you’ll be fine for approximately 12ish hours straight afterwards but if alcohol is on the cards I’d take it very easy.

Abraxan · 15/12/2021 10:13

Dh and I were a bit achy the next day, but nothing major. We actually had cold bugs a day or two later - but very much a cold. Felt worse with that than the jab. Didn't really have side effects after the other two jabs.

Seasidemumma77 · 15/12/2021 10:25

1st Pfizer was really unwell, 2nd Pfizer just sore achy arm, had Pfizer booster yesterday morning have sore arm and headache today.

IndigoC · 15/12/2021 10:26

It took about 10 hours for the side effects to kick in for me.

LefttoherownDevizes · 15/12/2021 10:28

Thank you. Thankfully don't drink/smoke and already on co codamol for various other things so hope that keeps it at bay.

Funny how it's so different for people, still it was v heartening to see so many people queuing to get theirs (and for walk ins it was quite a queue)

I had mine yesterday morning and have been absolutely fine save a mildly sore arm.

middleager · 15/12/2021 10:31

Had mine at 4.30pm yesterday. Previously double AZ and have had Covid.
You should be fine straight away, I was driving after, picking kids up etc.
It's only today I have a headache, but not slept for 2 nights over sthg else.

NutsFromSainburys · 15/12/2021 10:31

Pfizer booster last Thursday at 10am, woke up with a massive temperature, shivering and feeling awful despite having taken 2 paracetamols before bed. I had the same reaction with my first vaccine. The temperature lasted until 1pm the next day, having started at around 11pm the night before. Was feeling totally fine the following afternoon.

NutsFromSainburys · 15/12/2021 10:32

Temp started about 12 hours after the booster.

astoundedgoat · 15/12/2021 10:35

It was the following afternoon both times. Fine, fine, fine, omg I think I'm going to die, then next morning fine.

Almostwelsh · 15/12/2021 10:35

I started feeling odd and kind of brain glitchy within 3-4 hours and had full blown flu style side effects by 6 hours which lasted for about 36 hours. There's no way I could have gone anywhere.

Same set up (covid in Jan) and had booster yesterday. I was fine all day - but today I am so so rough. So fingers crossed you will be ok today, but tomorrow may be hell ☹️
WhereYouLeftIt · 15/12/2021 10:48

I had no reaction at all, DH had a slight headache.

I actually got a bit emotional (I was very tired too) but to see so many people and such a big effort brought a little tear to my eye
