Have they tweaked the booster to be effective against Omicron

Trying to understand the panic call for booster vaccination wgen a month ago we were patting ourselves on the back for majority being fully vaccinated, now suddenly both those vaccinations are worthless and a booster is necessary and suddenly going to protect us against a variant that has many mutations. Have the scientists tweaked the booster or not, if not, how can they be sure of its effectiveness against omicron . I work in the NHS and not hearing of local hospitals being overwhelmed with people with covid. However we are chronically short staffed because people have had a positive covid test, and very mild symptoms in many cases. Why arent we building capacity in the NHS

Yes let's just keep firing chemicals into ourselves on an endless loop for a virus.....

LOL 'work in the NHS'. What do you do, mop the floors? File papers away into cabinets?

So rude

NHS cleaners did an amazing job throughout covid, for low pay and high risk whilst they didnt have adequate protection. Not sure why even i was a cleaner in a hospital it would be a less valid post. Are we supposed to blindly agree to anything ? Many people who have been double vaxxed are not going to have the booster because they have lost trust in the science, in the politicians.

The thing about someone working in the NHS, in whatever capacity, is that they would become aware of things getting busier earlier than the person in the street.

In that context, OP working in the NHS is relevant to her subsequent statement that she wasn’t hearing of hospitals being overwhelmed. She didn’t, as I read it, use her work as any sort of claim to authority or special understanding.

Not really. Someone working as in admin at a local GP practice is not going to know much about the capacity of St Thomas' ICU. 'I work in the NHS' is meaningless unless backed up with some kind of reason why that opinion holds any weight.

What is with all these patronising responses ? I asked a similar question earlier and didn’t get all the “do you mop the floors in the NHS?” bollocks

It seems to depend who's on the threads at any given time, AnyFucker - though the "mopping floors" poster appears to be on most, flinging out insults like a pyrotechnic

Shame really, and probably best to ignore such comments
