Booster on the 24th December

So, I've been invited for my booster on Christmas eve.

I have full plans on getting my booster, but with 3 young kids, I really don't want to be unwell for Christmas day. The vaccines made me feel super unwell last time and I'm wondering if it would be unfair to reschedule?

What do you think?

I think, this year and with this variant, I'd prioritise the booster.

ChangingStates · 13/12/2021 06:17

Personally I'd reschedule - there seem to be loads of appts available so you should be able to get one a few days later

blueberriesareawesome · 13/12/2021 06:19

Try and reschedule it, they are keen to get people jabbed sooner than later. I've just had a horrid 36 hours post booster and I still feel like absolute death warmed up.

CamQ · 13/12/2021 06:23

Reschedule

Clutterbugsmum · 13/12/2021 06:23

Or see if there is a Walk in centre/pharmacy near you.

NovemberNovemberDarkNights · 13/12/2021 06:24

Is it the same vaccination this time? (I had AZ/AZ/Pfizer, but I'm older than you)

blessedbethechocolate · 13/12/2021 06:27

I had all Pfizer and for some reason only got Ill with the third one.

ScarlettDarling · 13/12/2021 06:28

Yep, I’d get a walk in appointment before then. I had mine on Saturday and was a bit grotty yesterday.

CakesOfVersailles · 13/12/2021 06:29

Can you try and get it a few days earlier?

GoodnightGrandma · 13/12/2021 06:30

It wouldn’t be unfair, and you’re doing it with full knowledge that you could catch Covid in the mean time, and that would put your booster even further back.

Haggisfish3 · 13/12/2021 06:31

I’d go to walk in earlier.

Piggy42 · 13/12/2021 06:35

I’d also look for a walk in appointment earlier.

DrWankincense · 13/12/2021 06:39

Mine is scheduled for 23rd first thing.
I'm checking everyday to see if something earlier comes up but if not I'll be having it and keeping my fingers crossed not to feel too rotten.

TopTabby · 13/12/2021 06:48

I felt nothing with my 2 AZ jabs but felt unwell for 2 days after my Pfizer, nothing awful but hot/cold/dizzy & slept really badly. A couple of days later would probably be better

Remmy123 · 13/12/2021 06:51

I wouid reschedule

Tabbacus · 13/12/2021 06:52

Unless you're very vulnerable I'd reschedule too.

MultiSkills · 13/12/2021 06:54

I couldn't move my arm and was in agony most of the night after my second Pfizer, so I'd reschedule!

dollywoodlooksgood · 13/12/2021 06:54

I’d probably reschedule and do it earlier. Perhaps you can find a walk-in?

Itisasecret · 13/12/2021 06:55

God no, I had Moderna and had an instant reaction. I know a lot who did too.

Cherrydown · 13/12/2021 06:56

Reschedule, I had a banging headache for 48 hours and could barely use my arm. I wouldn't want to be feeling like that with little ones on Christmas Day.

Frankzappa22 · 13/12/2021 07:02

Definitely reschedule. I felt a bit rough for 2 days after my booster

MattDamon · 13/12/2021 07:03

I was also originally booked for the 24th. I kept checking the NHS website and was able to get one last week. I had a 48-hr migraine, so if you have any plans for Xmas, I'd avoid that date.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 13/12/2021 07:06

i had absolutely no issues with the booster

Angel2702 · 13/12/2021 07:07

I’d go to a walk in or reschedule. You won’t be protected by it for Christmas anyway if you have it Christmas Eve so waiting a few days won’t matter.

NinaProudman2022 · 13/12/2021 07:08

I felt awful after the first one, just had a sore arm and felt a bit tired with the second but had no issues with the booster.
