Whitty
Vallance
Johnson
I wonder what they’ll say.
vera99 · 08/12/2021 18:48
@PurpleDaisies I don't think 49-year-old Therese Coffey needs to worry on that front.
Is this a bad dream are we in some Matrix-like groundhog day time-loop?
ParsleySageRosemary · 08/12/2021 18:48
Never mind the parties, or not just the parties. I want to know more about the millions of people who were flying in and out of the UK during what was supposed to be lockdown.
news.sky.com/story/covid-19-1-5m-people-flew-to-uk-in-first-four-months-of-2021-when-borders-were-meant-to-be-heavily-restricted-12318777
There is. no value. to lockdowns. that are continually broken. by mates of the worthless corrupt excuse for government in Britain.
The fact that new variants still find their way to us show that we are still being taken for mugs.
Pootle40 · 08/12/2021 18:48
@EnnAndJay
And they're doing fuck all to stop it.
We're vaccinated.
ArblemarchTFruitbat · 08/12/2021 18:48
The next thing will be no mixing at Christmas.
Lobster2018 · 08/12/2021 18:49
@Lobster2018 I would say that it lessens your chance of dying. Is that good enough for you?
No it's not good enough ... for a virus that has a very low mortality rate.
onewayanother · 08/12/2021 18:49
@onewayanother why would you not get the booster to protect your own health and possibly that of others?
I'm young, healthy and no underlying issues. I had covid before my vaccine and I was fine. I'm doh me jabbed but will not be be having a booster. The vaccine was to let us get on with our own lives and again we're back here today
Whammyyammy · 08/12/2021 18:49
Feel sorry for hospitality and entertainment venues, Christmas is a huge part of their revenue, plan B will kill them now.
EnnAndJay · 08/12/2021 18:49
Any prizes involved @PrincessNutNuts?
Thankfully we've fully prepared for a virtual Christmas - all shopping done, all (wrapped) presents already exchanged, Zoom quizzes and games sorted.
I'd like to say I feel sorry for Joe Public who'll end up having to scurry about in the bottom of the freezer for their Christmas dinner after all their plans get dashed, but I don't.
XenoBitch · 08/12/2021 18:49
@ArblemarchTFruitbat
I don't think many people will adhere to that.
ParsleySageRosemary · 08/12/2021 18:49
@ArblemarchTFruitbat
Time for civil disobedience? What's the point of being disciplined in a country that celebrates lies?
the80sweregreat · 08/12/2021 18:49
Whitty said that just two jabs might not be enough to evade the new variant
If people are not going to get the booster , then we might be fucked ?

@Bouledeneige
Tbh I’m not sure why pp are stopping after two
And this all is shit but I don’t get that about booster
wincarwoo · 08/12/2021 18:50
@onewayanother
I'm double jabbed. Not a chance will I be having a booster when it makes not a bit of difference to what I can/can't do.
The vaccines are not given so that you can go to the pub and have a holiday abroad. They are for preventing you becoming seriously ill and ending up in hospital (or dying).
That seems like a pretty good reason to have it, but you do you.
*@nordica*
Are you happy to have jab after jab and still have restrictions?
I had covid before my vaccine and was just fine. I had both vaccines as I was told it would protect others. Everyone has been offered the vaccine and over 40's the booster and we are back here today. The vaccines are not working if we have to go back to restrictions.
Do you know the percentage that aren't vaxxed? That's your answer.
AnnieP1 · 08/12/2021 18:50
Why is there no outrage or fury from anyone in that press conference to mirror that being felt by innumerable members of the pubic about the hilarity surrounding the alleged Conservative Party parties last year.

Thanks! Glad I didn’t imagine it
Yellow85 · 08/12/2021 18:51
@LivinLaVidaLoki
This was the bit I was interested in. No details on gov.uk yet though. I’ve had 3 jabs and covid so much lower risk. Biggest concerns for me was being an omnicon contact before Xmas
onewayanother · 08/12/2021 18:51
EnnAndJay
Doubling time of two days = 90000 cases of Omicron in two weeks time.
And they're doing fuck all to stop it.
Remember when they said we would be having over 100,000 cases a day. Never happened.
YellowEllis · 08/12/2021 18:51
So how do 3 monthly boosters work for young women, and of reproductive age/trying to conceive when large amounts of us had our periods go haywire for weeks/months after the initial vaccine? I was happy to get my initial vaccine but my period vanished for around 3 months after. Having to deal with that once a year isn't ideal but every 3 months is madness and I wouldn't be willing to make that choice.
ParsleySageRosemary · 08/12/2021 18:51
@AnnieP1
Because they will lose their jobs if they challenge the establishment?
the80sweregreat · 08/12/2021 18:51
Around 5 million people are not vaccinated at all.
Nothing they say will improve this figure.
@EnnAndJay I guess that it becomes semantics about what managing means. I think 200k plus cases will be possible.
Cases actually I dont think will be the marker for any of this - it will be seriousness. At the moment data on that is looking ok (not great but ok) and the plan will be to manage it as much as possible so that is kept down.
I dont know many now who havent had Covid at least once. I have just had my boosters etc.
I do agree though I think some sensible isolation plan for close contacts - maybe PCR day 3 to release (given the 3 day innoculation period) then LFTs or for 12-18 LFTs for 10 days. Particularly for household contacts.
Now you admit it!
I remember when your mob shat on anyone who dared mention that we may reach 100000 cases eventually.
