Just that really. Would you want to sit in a pub for the evening with someone who had two kids at home that had tested positive in the last few days?

And from your post you seem to think it is fine for someone with flu to mix freely @Watapalava

JunoMcDuff · 25/11/2021 19:37

Yes as last Ng as they tested negative.

But I transported my friends kids to school in my car when she tested positive.

Namenic · 25/11/2021 19:39

No. I’m pregnant but would probably have the same answer even if I wasn’t. I’d consider meeting them in a park socially distanced with masks though

Watapalava · 25/11/2021 19:40

Too much

I wouldn’t encourage anyone but I wouldn’t give it second thought no

If asked I’d go with them yes. Such common illnesses really don’t worry me. I certainly wouldn’t let colds, flu, D&V, covid etc have any bearing on my life whatsoever and wouldn’t go out my way to avoid them

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 25/11/2021 19:40

No way. It also pisses me off when my kids have to go to school with other children who's parents are at home with covid, only for those same children to test positive a few days later 😑

Exhausteddog · 25/11/2021 19:40

I probably wouldn't. My DS had covid a week ago. I wfh as much as I could but I did go in (on public transport) a few times but cancelled any non essential stuff. I was meant to be meeting a friend for a walk but cancelled that as she is pregnant, and I had planned to go for a run with friends and I didn't go there either. I did pcrs on day 4 and day 9 and lfts in between on the days I was going to work but chose not to socialise. None if us did get it from him.

Chunkymenrock · 25/11/2021 19:41

Absolutely no way.

Fallagain · 25/11/2021 20:00

Nope. I’m generally but I’m also generally not too friendly with people who don’t follow government guidelines.

Watapalava · 25/11/2021 20:09

Gov guidelines do not say family contacts can’t go the pub!

Jenjenn · 25/11/2021 20:16

No way

kowari · 25/11/2021 20:27

If you had flu or norovirus and knew about it then it would be unlikely you'd be up for the pub. If you were an asymptomatic carrier then you wouldn't know. Covid is a bit of a different situation as you can test positive without being ill.
cheninblanc · 25/11/2021 20:39

No, my dds have had covid over the last three weeks and we cancelled all nights out. Masked up if we had to go in a shop.

Wellbythebloodyhell · 25/11/2021 21:07

Sitting with someone in the pub who has positive cases at home Is no different with someone in work that has positive cases at home.

Fallagain · 25/11/2021 21:45

@Watapalava

It says to avoid unnecessary contact with others. Going to the pub is not a necessity.
Pootle40 · 25/11/2021 21:51

Yes cause I don't care anymore and I've sat in a full theatre. It would have been in there that night

Delatron · 25/11/2021 21:58

Yes, no problem. I’ve sat in my house for a week with a child with Covid (didn’t get it) I don’t think I’ll get it from a friend in a pub. And quite frankly it’s everywhere. So you could be sat next to someone on a bus with it, or in the theatre, cinema. Unless we’re still restricting all our movements and having no fun?

Double vaccinated and life is for living.

Delatron · 25/11/2021 22:00

Bollocks to sitting in an office to get Covid because work is essential but not going to the pub and having fun because that’s not essential. What rubbish! Shall we do this forever?

Fadette · 25/11/2021 22:02

I wouldn't. Just because something is "allowed" doesn't mean that it's a good idea.

Fadette · 25/11/2021 22:03

Pandemics don't last forever.

521Jeanie · 25/11/2021 22:04

No.
And pretty selfish of them not to lay off going to the pub for a few days in my opinion.

User2638483 · 25/11/2021 22:05

Not unless it was a ‘good time’ for me to potentially get it.
I sort of feel it’s inevitable and would hope that 3 x jabs would keep it mild.

But no way if I was going on holiday or had xmas very close etc.
You’d have to assume there’s a high chance they’d test positive a day or two after you’d seen them.

MaggieFS · 25/11/2021 22:05

No. It's just the pub. It can be done another time. Not worth the risks.

Sonex · 25/11/2021 22:06

nope, chance are they're incubating.

Confusedteacher · 25/11/2021 22:09

If both double jabbed I would, but would sit outside.

worriedatthemoment · 25/11/2021 22:16

Maybe not but then the person serving me could also have positive people at home so you just never know
