Just that really. Would you want to sit in a pub for the evening with someone who had two kids at home that had tested positive in the last few days?

@rainrainraincamedowndowndown

No way, why would you, unless you want to get infected.
You could already have had it
AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 25/11/2021 19:12

Totally depends, have they already had covid? have I had covid?, how long since the children tested positive? Are they isolating within the home?

You know that being near a person with covid isnt a 100% certainty that you'll catch it, even living in the same house doesn't mean that
GiveMeNovocain · 25/11/2021 19:14

Hell yes

sjxoxo · 25/11/2021 19:14

Definitely not. I’d consider them close contacts and I’d avoid them! X

FindingMeno · 25/11/2021 19:15

No because I don't like pubs.
But the covid situation wouldn't worry me.

Kids are fully isolating, adults are not - still going to work and out and about generally.

None of the adults in the group who are potentially meeting at the pub have had confirmed covid, all are fully vaccinated. Double vaxxed that is - none are eligible for a booster.

Adult who is living with the kids with covid has had a negative PCR a couple of days ago and is doing daily LFTs, all obviously negative.

No, and I would think they were pretty selfish meeting in a public place for social reasons. Different if they had to work and couldn’t WFH. It’s not just their group of friends who could potentially catch COVID from

toomuchlaundry · 25/11/2021 19:22

It’s not like they could wear a mask

thewhatsit · 25/11/2021 19:22

Yes I suppose so. Only because I was at a hobby thing (indoor) fairly recently and the teacher was chatting freely about how her two DC had Covid and were isolating at home and how she and her DH her alternating cover. We chatted about it briefly and I have to say it didn’t cross my mind after that. I didn’t reach for a mask in shock or anything.
I guess socialising is a bit different because she was getting paid to be at the event, but for the rest of us it was for social purposes and no one seemed bothered.

Yuledo · 25/11/2021 19:22

No and I wouldn’t think much of them for going either. Work I can sort of see, but going to the pub is a self indulgence that could really badly impact others down the line.

WonderfulYou · 25/11/2021 19:23

No because you can just do it a few days later instead. So it’s not worth the risk.

I guess it depends on your job and access to online shopping, if you have a garden etc but I wouldn’t want to isolate for 10 days if I could help it.

Just heard - third child in the household has just tested positive!!

Yes

To be honest I’d happily meet them even if they had Covid

Covid doesn’t bother me in the slightest

OliveTree75 · 25/11/2021 19:25

Yes but only because I am a teacher and am repeatedly exposed to covid anyway!

IndigoC · 25/11/2021 19:25

No

toomuchlaundry · 25/11/2021 19:27

Do you worry about spreading it @Watapalava? You would be happy to meet with someone who was knowingly COVID positive in a busy pub

Ellen888 · 25/11/2021 19:28

No

HairyToity · 25/11/2021 19:28

Had covid, and double vaccinated, so yes I'd meet up. Test my antibodies.

ApplesAreTheBaneOfMyLife · 25/11/2021 19:31

If I knew that they had done LTFs and/or PCRs then yes.

Watapalava · 25/11/2021 19:32

Yes too much

The whole pint of vaccination is to reduce serious illness

I don’t care one bit about covid

If I were to worry now I’d always worry as it’s going nowhere

I do not consider covid as anything other than cold or flu now vaccines are so prevalent

If high risk I cannot imagine I may be mo cautious but yes I’d happily mix with who have covid
I likely mix with them everyday as do you I imagine

HelplesslyHoping · 25/11/2021 19:32

No, and I'd be advising them to stay at home and do another PCR

shinynewapple21 · 25/11/2021 19:34

No way

toomuchlaundry · 25/11/2021 19:34

Would you mix with and encourage someone with norovirus to be in a busy pub @Watapalava?

Abraxan · 25/11/2021 19:35

No.

I'm triple jabbed (CV) and have had covid last October, so I'm less likely to catch it these days, However covid last year put me in hospital and I'm on lifelong medication since. I'd just not take the chance if I didn't have to.

I also wouldn't go out socialising if dh was at home with covid, so as to reduce the chance of having it and passing it on.

I come into contact with covid most weeks. I teach and I know our children are in school whilst their parents and siblings are home with covid. So I can't avoid it, but I can choose to reduce the chance.
