Ive got a stinking cold, felt yuk for 2-3 days.
LFT last 2 days negative. This morning felt yuk still runny nose, banging head. 3 x LFT positive. Just been for a drive through PCR. Im pretty sure I have Covid result will be back tomorrow.

DH says he doesnt need to isolate at all as he's double jabbed... he's at work tonight.

Says I dont need to isolate if positive for 10 days because Im double jabbed

So what day did his symptoms start if he was ill last week he would be coming out of the isolation period anyway ie its Sunday now so last week if Sunday he should isolate for 3 more days however if the Wednesday he would be out anyway and would get positive results for up to 3 months after anyway

exexpat · 07/11/2021 13:15

@nonono1

If he had not had that he would still need PCR of household member positive

@vdbfamily that’s not correct - if your LFT is negative and you’re double jabbed, you don’t need to isolate if another member of your household has Covid - see this link:

www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/self-isolation-and-treatment/when-to-self-isolate-and-what-to-do/

However, in the OP’s case the DH has got a positive LFT so does now need to isolate and get a PCR.

If you are double-jabbed and a household member tests positive, you don't have to isolate but you do have to get a PCR test.

NHS website says:
"If someone you live with has symptoms of COVID-19, or has tested positive for COVID-19, you will not need to self-isolate if any of the following apply:
you're fully vaccinated – this means 14 days have passed since your final dose of a COVID-19 vaccine given by the NHS
you're under 18 years, 6 months old
you're taking part or have taken part in a COVID-19 vaccine trial
you're not able to get vaccinated for medical reasons"

BUT it then says:

Even if you do not have symptoms, you should still:
get a PCR test on GOV.UK to check if you have COVID-19

nonono1 · 07/11/2021 13:18

@exexpat I stand corrected!

3girlsunder3 · 07/11/2021 13:30

As previously said, you have to isolate and your dp has to book a pcr test as he is a close contact. However as he also has a positive lateral flow he should isolate immediately until he gets the Pcr result

ColettesEarrings · 07/11/2021 15:09

@exexpat @nonono1 "Should" is not the same as "must" in terms of legislation. In England the Dh does not have to take a PCR as a households contact if he doesn't wish to, there is no legal mechanism to compel him to. He ought to, clearly, but he does not have to.

Can he really not see that’s positive?

NoWordForFluffy · 07/11/2021 16:54

I didn't even have to zoom in to see that line!

WaterAndRichTea · 07/11/2021 16:56

Says I dont need to isolate if positive for 10 days because Im double jabbed………

Surely after 20 months you, him and the frikking world knows IF someone is positive they ISOLATE! Christ 🙈

WaterAndRichTea · 07/11/2021 16:59

A faint line is a positive result !

What the hell is wrong with people

jenkel · 07/11/2021 17:01

I had a positive pcr last week, dh and kids had been doing twice daily lf and today dh had a positive lf, had a pcr this afternoon and gone into isolation, just glad he went shoppping yesterday, I think we can safely presume he has covid

Iggly · 07/11/2021 17:02

That’s not even a faint line!!!

He absolutely should get a PCR. He’s clearly scared of getting tested Hmm

SortCode · 07/11/2021 17:31

Fuming with him...he could of gone this morning with me. Anyway luckily we havent been out since last Thurs or over the weekend mixing with anyone.

He's just back from his PCR.

I am NOT talking to him Angry so annoyed with him.

OP posts:
PurpleDaisies · 07/11/2021 18:28

He’s done the right thing now, even if he was slow about it. It’s going to be a very long ten days at home if you’re arguing all the time.

saltontoast · 07/11/2021 18:31

You need to isolate until you're results and if positive then 10 days isolation

Your DH needs to test with LFTs daily and if he's positive, even the faintest of lines he needs to have a PCR and isolate until his results

SortCode · 07/11/2021 22:20

Yep both waiting should get results tomorrow. Im sure Im positive feels so heady and bunged up Confused

I wonder if his previous PCR was a false negative and he's had it all week? Has he been doing regular LFTs all week, or was today his first?

hellcatspangle · 08/11/2021 06:15

@saltontoast

You need to isolate until you're results and if positive then 10 days isolation

Your DH needs to test with LFTs daily and if he's positive, even the faintest of lines he needs to have a PCR and isolate until his results

Not necessarily ten days isolation from positive result , if they've had symptoms since Thursday the isolation period will start from that day.
