Ive got a stinking cold, felt yuk for 2-3 days.
LFT last 2 days negative. This morning felt yuk still runny nose, banging head. 3 x LFT positive. Just been for a drive through PCR. Im pretty sure I have Covid result will be back tomorrow.

DH says he doesnt need to isolate at all as he's double jabbed... he's at work tonight.

Says I dont need to isolate if positive for 10 days because Im double jabbed

Afaik he's correct if he feels fine he carries on as normal, that's been the case for several weeks now

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 07/11/2021 12:42

You haven't said so I've assumed you are in England

DrMadelineMaxwell · 07/11/2021 12:42

If you're positive you definitely isolate.

What dh does depends on where you live. Here in Wales my dh needs a negative test on a pcr before he can go to work as i have tested positive.

I tested this morning and got my.result through very quickly. Surprisingly so.

nonono1 · 07/11/2021 12:46

Assuming you’re in England, your DH is right - there’s no requirement for any adult to isolate if they are double jabbed, even if someone else in the house is Covid positive. He should do daily lateral flows to check he hasn’t got it though.

SortCode · 07/11/2021 12:47

In England.

He's had a cold last week and cough he went for a pcr and negative. He's been coughing all the time. He's done a lft today and I could see a tiny, tiny faint line....he is in denial. Ive told him to do another lft before he eats etc to double check

OP posts:
GoodnightGrandma · 07/11/2021 12:47

If in England he is right, but he should do daily LF`t’s.

PurpleDaisies · 07/11/2021 12:48

He is right that he doesn’t need to isolate. You have tested positive so you do unless you get a negative pcr later.

Quartz2208 · 07/11/2021 12:48

He should do another LFT and a PCR. But if they are negative he is right he doesnt have to isolate.

You on the other hand do as you are positive

Bigfathairyones · 07/11/2021 12:48

If double jabbed and negative, carry on as usual (but get PCR if positive in the household)
If double jabbed and positive, 10 day isolation. DH is right about himself and wrong about you.

Howshouldibehave · 07/11/2021 12:49

@SortCode

If he has a positive LFD test today, he needs to get a PCR and isolate.

Is he saying that YOU don’t need to isolate because you’re double jabbed?

PurpleDaisies · 07/11/2021 12:51

I cross posted where you said he was coughing constantly and had a positive lft. He has one of the three key Covid symptoms and a positive lft. He needs to isolate until getting a negative pcr.

mocktail · 07/11/2021 12:53

You both need to isolate. Even a faint line on the LFT means positive. He can stop isolating if he gets a negative PCR results, but from what you've said that seems unlikely.

gettingolderandgrumpy · 07/11/2021 12:54

Hi doesn’t need to isolate but should take a pcr test . If he has symptoms he absolutely needs to isolate.

exexpat · 07/11/2021 12:56

If you test positive, you are legally obliged to isolate for 10 days from start of symptoms, no matter what your vaccine status.

If your test comes back positive, he will be told to get a PCR test as a household contact - he might as well go and do that now if you have a walk-in/drive-through test centre near you open today.

If his LFT today showed a faint positive, then he will probably get a positive PCR and he will then need to isolate for 10 days.

nonono1 · 07/11/2021 12:56

Oh, if he’s had a positive LFT then he definitely needs to isolate and get a PCR!

vdbfamily · 07/11/2021 12:58

Agree... he needs PCR and to isolate until results because of his faint positive. If he had not had that he would still need PCR of household member positive

ApplesAreTheBaneOfMyLife · 07/11/2021 12:58

He should do get a PCR and isolate until he gets the result (and carry on isolating if positive of course).

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 07/11/2021 12:58

he's right if I consider your very first post.

but if there's a faint linr he should repeat his lft

obv if he tests positive then he has to isolate

Bigfathairyones · 07/11/2021 12:59

OK, so if DH now LFT positive, he needs a PCR and you both need to isolate until results are in. If positive, self isolate.

PurpleDaisies · 07/11/2021 13:00

@ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba

He doesn’t need to repeat it. A faint line is a positive, especially in the context that he has symptoms and the op has also tested positive. He needs a pcr now.
ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 07/11/2021 13:02

@PurpleDaisies

sure. he doesn't have to repeat but he is dismissing it because it's faint (🙄) so that's why I suggested he should do another

you know, like we do with POAS🤣

He’ll most likely just get another faint line (or possible a negative-lfts aren’t perfect).

The lft is a red herring really-it sounds like he has a continuous cough so needs a pcr and to isolate anyway.

nonono1 · 07/11/2021 13:10

If he had not had that he would still need PCR of household member positive

@vdbfamily that’s not correct - if your LFT is negative and you’re double jabbed, you don’t need to isolate if another member of your household has Covid - see this link:

www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/self-isolation-and-treatment/when-to-self-isolate-and-what-to-do/

However, in the OP’s case the DH has got a positive LFT so does now need to isolate and get a PCR.

AtrociousCircumstance · 07/11/2021 13:11

He’s an idiot.
