17 days since positive test - breathing problems

I had breathing problems around day 6/7 but then it got better

But the last 2/3 days its got worse again with pain and shortness of breath & I am totally belly breathing

But my blood oxygen is stable around 97 (it was much lower before)

Do I need to speak to the gp/nurse or just wait it out?

Ah the old anxiety chestnut. Do you feel anxious? This was my gp's leading theory, I even got sent for cortisol tests. I ended up at the long COVID clinic.

Not dramatically

Bit Stressed that I can't work; but that is balanced by getting plenty of rest (without any benefit of the rest currently) but the business is/was doing well & will pick up even if I miss Christmas as its not a massive Christmas product

Disordered sleep is a right pain but realistically it will adapt itself over time

DD is moving out and my emotions are relief and a bit of sadness and the house will be a mess until they complete but that's transitory

Life is OK apart from my health atm (short term) - long term its been pretty stable

I think possibly I'm more pissed off than anxious

Another bloody illness; another bloody argument with medics

A phase I found useful was "I am not anxious, however I am concerned that ..... "

I mean, I'm sure anxiety scared thing but it does seem to be the medical profession's go to answer for anything they cannot immediately explain.

The COVID clinic couldn't ultimately help either but at least they were happy to listen and run tests. Time helped.

Tried the stairs and my heart rate went up but my blood oxygen stayed the same

Yes depression & anxiety once diagnosed seem to be repeated frequently

Saturday night I got really anxious - senile uncle lost in London and while 'looking' for him virtually (is it wrong to microchip an 81 yo?) I didn't have any increase in symptoms

But I did after my bath this morning.....

That TSH is too high, I was put on medication at that after a retest. Mine is now 1.2

Hi OP, I had covid back in March 2020 and had a similar symptoms and timeline to you but ended up hospitalised after the breathlessness got worse. In the end, steroids in just about every format were the thing that helped. They decided that it's this multi system inflammatory response type thing. It took 5 months to fully recover.

Thanks guys, I guess I'll monitor it

I am a bit better just not adequate!

Fast asleep in bed last night slept for 2 hrs(ish) - woke with terrible chest & tummy pains, my oxygen was 92% within 15 mins (& me sitting up) it was back to 96

Then of course I did panic a bit and obviously didn't sleep until after 5! Such a numpty

Thyroid patient since age 21 here, i now manage it myself by asking my GP for blood tests and adjusting my dose accordingly. I buy my thyroid medication abroad where my parents live.

For me and many others a TSH of 7 would have me feeling awful! Far too high. Meaning your thyroid is under active. Ideally you would want to take thyroid medication and get that down to between 1 and 2. Whether you can find a doctor that will help you do that is another thing. Search the thyroid uk website or anything by Mary Shomon. Honestly a TSH of anything over 3 has many of us feeling rather rough.
