Anyone had a bad reaction to booster?

I'm due my booster but am worried because I know at least 4 people (personally) who were really Ill after the booster.

I've had covid and wasn't too poorly with it. Losing my sense of smell was the worst symptom.

Has anyone else been ill? I'm starting to dread the booster now.

No issues whatsoever with mine.

That's good. Did you have Pfizer?

I wasn’t ill as such but I did have a strong immune response (exhaustion, aches, chills) 12 hours after the booster and onwards. By 48 hours, I was fine apart from some lingering tiredness. Exactly the same as after second jab. Still well worth it.

Glad you're ok now.

So I had AZ for doses one and two, and Pfizer booster. I felt fine after the Pfizer booster - maybe a slightly raised temperature but I didn’t need to take paracetamol or anything and could carry on completely as normal.

For context, previously, I had flu-type symptoms after my first dose of AZ. I haven’t had COVID at any point as far as I know.

Go for it OP!

MissMarplesGoddaughter · 30/10/2021 06:16

I had a Pfizer booster and have been absolutely fine, with no symptoms at all. I also had Pfizer for doses 1 and 2.

After doses 1 and 2, I had a slightly sore arm, but no other symptoms. To my knowledge I have not had Covid.

Cookerhood · 30/10/2021 08:26

Slightly sore arm here (Moderna)

stclair · 30/10/2021 08:28

I had Pfizer booster on Thursday. Sore arm which is feeling much better today and that’s it.

JudgementalCactus · 30/10/2021 08:31

I had my pfizer booster 16h ago. So far only mild arm pain and underarm discomfort. Probably a swollen lymph node. Too a paracetamol before bed yesterday.

JoeMaplin · 30/10/2021 08:33

I felt under the weather for 24 hours and very, very tired the next day too.ive had Pfizer for all 3.

Clareyck · 30/10/2021 08:55

I've had Pfizer booster after 2 Pfizers. I was a bit fluey after my second and had a sore arm after all 3. After my booster I was totally fine illness wise but have had a skin reaction (like a heat rash) on my arm which has been very uncomfortable and surprised me as I didn't have it before. However I'd not hesitate to get it done...mine is through work and I have several colleagues off with covid.

georgedawes · 30/10/2021 09:01

Much less reaction to the booster here than my other 2 doses.

Ietthemeatcake · 30/10/2021 09:21

AZ for my first 2 and had my Pfizer booster on Thursday. Just a sore arm and a headache here.

somethinghere · 30/10/2021 09:26

I've had booster Pfizer and had a sore arm for maybe 24/48hrs and that was it. I think people are more likely to tell you about their bad experiences than no reaction.

Juniper68 · 30/10/2021 09:56

Thanks everyone you've eased my anxiety Smile

Thanks for putting this up as I have mine today too and it's reassured me also. Good luck x

REDHERO · 30/10/2021 10:08

I had booster a week ago and no problems at all.

Becca7910 · 31/10/2021 14:15

How are you feeling Juniper68? I'm feeling pretty blurgh, nauseous, v tired and a bit shivery on and off. Could be a lot worse though. Also had my flu one at same time. Having a resting day. X

Mischance · 31/10/2021 14:34

Had my booster yesterday. Arm a bit sore and I feel a bit tired, but just about to tuck in to a roast dinner, so can't be that bad!!

I haven't had it yet. I had high bp after 2nd jab so am worried it'll happen again. I have excellent bp usually.

AZ for first jabs. Felt rough with both for a few days. Pfizer booster. Sore arm and tiredness / headache lasting a day. Had my flu jab the next day. Felt fine having both

winterisaroundthecorner · 31/10/2021 17:30

Tbh, to be able to get a booster is a privilege. Don't get it if you don't want it. There are many people who wants it and can't, due to age/circumstances/etc.

You just need to make a decision, having a bad reaction for vaccine is worse than having a severe illness to covid? No one know the answer, but the science says the odds are better with vaccine.
If I am offered, I have no doubt for taking it. Count yourself lucky.

BIWI · 31/10/2021 17:32

My first two were AZ; both times I had a bit of a sore arm but nothing else.

Had my booster yesterday, which was Pfizer. Again, a sore, slightly stiff arm, but nothing else.

I have to have it for work.

If you have to have it for work, why are you even questioning it?
You do realise losing a sense of smell is to do with brain damage, right?
Would you really want to risk it if you can avoid it? Like I said, being able to have a booster is a privilege.
