Third primary dose recorded in GP system as booster

Who should I contact in order to fix this? I’d rather only contact one organisation and get it right first time, rather than contact the wrong organisation(s) first. GP did not administer the vaccine.

@RachC2021 thanks!

There is still no way of distinguishing between the 3rd primary & the booster on the entry screen, you can still only choose booster so that's what your records will say. I always make a note in the "clinical notes" section.

Thank you for the update. It’s shocking they still haven’t updated it. People are starting to be eligible for their booster now, yet there is no way they can be identified?!

Presumably only by their GP etc. DH has had a letter saying he's eligible for his 3rd primary (which he'd had by then anyway) & a booster so I guess it's up to him, the GP or consultant when the time comes. It's a mess!

RachC2021 · 11/12/2021 16:38

The booking website now says this:

“ If you've had the 3rd dose for people with a severely weakened immune system

If you've had the 3rd dose for people with a severely weakened immune system, you'll be eligible for a booster dose from 3 months (91 days) after your 3rd dose.

You cannot book your booster dose using this service yet, but your GP or hospital specialist will invite you for your booster dose when it's due.”

Are we going to have to fight to get these invitations?

I imagine so. Someone will say"but the computer says you've had a booster not a third primary". DH has had letters from his consultant (long after getting his third jab) telling him to get one (also from the NHS rather than his consultant specifically) so I suppose the same will happen again, but they'll have to update the computer system before then.

Almost certainly!

If the 2 Sept advice had been implemented, and jabs has started going in by 11 Sept (ie as intended, before boosters even announced) then 3 month boosters wouid be falling due niw.

As most people got their jabs in the second half of October (missing the 2nd deadline in mid Oct, it was that much a shambles) then the 3 month boosters will start falling due in the second half of January.

The qualifying person in my household is refusing to even think about it yet. And yes, we have no reason to suspect anything other than cock ups all round (anyone else a veteran of the wars of getting the correct jabs in anythinaporxinating the intended timelines for teenage household CEV?)

Has the computer system been updated for entries yet do you know? I’m getting very close to when I “should” be able to book my booster, and I’d rather book one so I can just walk to the pharmacy in town instead of having to get someone to drive me to a mass vaccination hub.

There is now a question regarding whether the patient is severely immunosuppressed. I'm guessing (although haven't done it) that if you say "yes" it will open up some more questions, so it may be fixed. Does anyone else know?

RachC2021 · 20/12/2021 13:23

When I try and complete it I get “You do not need to book any coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination appointments using this service”.

And what a surprise. Medical records still haven’t been updated to say I had a third primary. They say I’ve had two boosters, which is incorrect — the first one was my third primary! 😡 Has anyone heard anything more about records being updated?

It won't be unless someone goes in & changes it. It doesn't really matter now people are familiar with the concept. The data entry screen now allows for more than one "booster". DH's also says booster.

Does it really matter if it states 3rd primary and booster or 1st 2nd booster booster? You have had the correct medication injecting into you, there's absolutely no difference in the amount of vaccine or make of vaccine between a 3rd dose or a booster. The very fact that you have been given a 4th dose/ booster means that there is no issue in the recording of your vaccines and your medical records still highlighted you as eligible for a 4th vaccine.
pistolknight · 22/02/2022 19:43

My 3rd and 4th say booster - both Pfizer so exactly the same as a primary anyway. My gp knows they're boosters so not bothered about changing it.

Cookerhood · 22/02/2022 20:34

There is actually a difference in the dose of a Moderna booster, it's half a dose. Your medical records will say the dose given, though.

RachC2021 · 23/02/2022 19:26

@Wellbythebloodyhell I’d like to think my medical records are accurate. I’m no longer immunocompromised so don’t expect to get the “spring second booster”, but if a second booster becomes more widely available in the autumn I’d like to have it and not get “computer sats no, you had two already” and then have to spend ages sorting it out then.
