I know media speculated October circuit break that's all gone quiet.

Just with 40k cases over 100 deaths a day we not far off jan.
Kids highest rates infections and these do leak into other age group.
7000+ in hospital
Flu and other viruses making a come back as well as covid.
What makes everyone so certain the NHS won't get overwhelmed.

Just worry after last autumn winter feels crazy out if control right now.

@EvilPea. Thank you for getting back to me to let me know. That's kind of you to take the time. You've made me feel very happy that I could help. ☺

Do councils know what we don't?

I think councils know exactly the same as we do that if covid numbers start to get out of hand this autumn, the government won't do anything effective until it's too late.

That could lead to significant numbers of people staying away from big events unilaterally, OR numbers at the events being reduced by covid restrictions to the point that they become uneconomic, OR the events could end up cancelled altogether, possibly a day or two after the Prime Minister insists they won't.

Plus all the Brexit logistical problems. shortages of goods and staff and not being able to rely on things arriving in a timely manner.

In our area things seemed scaled down, and earlier than usual.
