Bristol’s current rate of infection is 187 cases per 100,000 population. The England average is currently 335 per 100,000. There have been 869 new cases in Bristol over the last seven days. 334,651 (76 per cent) of people in Bristol have had at least one dose of the vaccine.
I would like to wish a Happy Navratri to our Hindu Community. We hope you enjoy celebrations with family and friends. Please remember to take a lateral flow (rapid) test before meeting friends and family, and open windows if celebrating indoors. If you have any symptoms of COVID-19, please do not attend the temple or family celebrations. You must self-isolate and book a test as soon as possible.
Have a good weekend.

COVID marshals to continue through winter
COVID marshals will remain in place throughout Bristol until at least March of next year as work to keep coronavirus infection rates down and support the city through its recovery.
The team of 16 marshals were introduced across the city on 11 November 2020, supporting residents and businesses to comply with COVID-19 guidance.
This week, the council agreed to keep them in place for at least a further six months to build on their work within the community.
In just over nine months, our marshals have:
helped to resolve issues in shopping areas, parks and green spacescompleted over 17,000 COVID-19 related inspections across the cityshared posters, letters and leaflets with residentsoffered advice and guidance to hundreds of businesses.
For more information about COVID marshals visit the Bristol City Council newsroom.
Pharmacy collect codes and lateral flow testing
As of Monday 4 October, you now need a collect code to pick up lateral flow (rapid) tests from a pharmacy. You can get a collect code either online atGOV.UKor by calling 119.
Lateral flow (rapid) testing helps to identify cases of the virus where people have no symptoms. Up to 1 in 3 people could have coronavirus with no symptoms. There are lots of other ways to get hold of lateral flow (rapid) tests in Bristol.

Help Bristol bounce-back from the pandemic
The city centre and our high streets are a vital part of what makes Bristol what it is and a new high street survey will provide vital information to help us review potential improvements. Filling vacant premises, diversifying what’s on offer, improving the appearance of our streets, adding greenery to spaces, and creating more cultural activities could all help increase the number of people visiting and using these places.
The areas of focus include:
