2nd Pfizer arm won't move

makelovenotpetrol · 07/10/2021 07:35

I've had both jabs now . I have severe allergies so had it done in a clinic yesterday. Second Pfizer yesterday.

I know you can get a dead or aching arm but I can't move mine at all, it's literally stuck, and I also can't move my neck. It's not that I can't move it because it hurts, it literally just won't move. Is this normal? I don't know what would be particular to me having bad reactions to things or just something you get with this jab.

I would contact your GP immediately.

I would contact your GP immediately.
Why?

So you have paralysis in neck and arm? I would be going to hospital ASAP.

BeetyAxe · 07/10/2021 07:41

Not normal in the slightest, contact GP immediately.

EileenGC · 07/10/2021 07:43

You need to call the doctor (if they’re good at picking up immediately) or go to A&E ASAP.

Why? Because part of your body is paralysed.

makelovenotpetrol · 07/10/2021 07:43

Oh. Didn't think it would be that much of a big deal since it's normal to get dead or aching arms. I'll see how it goes over the day and if it stays the way it is I'll contact someone

RagzReturnsRebooted · 07/10/2021 07:43

No, that's not not normal. Can you not even wiggle your fingers? I'd go to see a Dr today.

YouveBeenLittUp · 07/10/2021 07:43

If you can't move your arm at all or neck you need to phone your gp or 111 if it's not open yet. It's not a normal reaction no. It might be nothing worrying but you need to get it checked.

BathTangle · 07/10/2021 07:43

You should have been given a leaflet when you had your jab that says who to call if you experience an adverse reaction? Check what it says and do that.

I can move my fingers but they ache like hell and can move my wrist a bit

Cleverly I didn't take the leaflet because I had been given one the first time and thought I still had that somewhere. It's ok though I can call my GP or I know the contact details of the clinic since I had to book the appointments.

If it really is completely paralysed then you need to see a doctor.

makelovenotpetrol · 07/10/2021 07:47

I've got a weird perspective of if things are bad or not because I've got really serious long term illnesses. So to me this doesn't really seem much of a big deal. I assumed it would just go . That's why I asked though

I often wake up with a dead arm but it goes away in seconds, as soon as I start moving it or massage it.

I would not wait a full day before contacting a doctor, if you really can’t move yours.

I've been awake for ages because I don't feel great and it hurts. I'll see how it is over the morning

Doctor ASAP

astoundedgoat · 07/10/2021 07:59

I don’t quite understand why you posted asking about your partial paralysis & then dismiss suggestions to speak to a doctor?

If you can’t move your arm & neck, that is an extreme reaction & you should tell your doctor.

NoSquirrels · 07/10/2021 08:00

For goodness sake, OP, call the GP or call 111 for advice (they’ll advise you seek medical attention!)

Don’t wait and “see how it goes”.

I've said I will! I just will give it a few hours to see what happens now I've got up, and if no better I will!

You're right about having a weird perspective! Ring your GP's surgery or 111. Don't leave it and see how it goes. This isn't a normal vaccine reaction fgs.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 07/10/2021 08:03

Ring 111 immediately. Don’t fanny around.

Thisbastardcomputer · 07/10/2021 08:03

Since having my first jab, I have had problems with my left arm. Just get in a not absolutely straight position and oh god the pain.

Cleaning or getting dressed, I have to be so careful

Nightbringer · 07/10/2021 08:04

If there's partial paralysis in your neck, in a few hours, it could be causing breathing issues.

I have a chronic illness. Partial paralysis after a job would definitely have me concerned.

Or does you condition mean this happens to you on and off?

No it doesn't usually happen.

It's ok I've booked a GP appointment.

There have been cases (I personally find the number of them quite concerning) of people who had had limbs paralysed and left unable to walk, or who experience constant tingling in their limbs due to the vaccine. They have been like that for months. I would get to the Dr ASAP!!
