I’ll start. No Head lice.
Just discovered an infestation last night. Bloody hell they have been back only just over a week!

My DC got threadworms when they went back to school summer 2020 - it was when there were only key workers in and supposed to be distancing at school too!

Benefit to me is no colleagues cheek-kissing. I plan to continue to refuse!!

Indigomint · 10/09/2021 11:42

I've got a cold for first time in ages. I'd forgotten how much they suck!

Kakser · 10/09/2021 11:44

Lane swimming. Numbers limited so you could actually swim. Now it's back to people stopping for a chat after each length IN THE FAST LANE. I have much swimming rage!

Indigomint · 10/09/2021 11:45

@Tiredout123 yes! I loved not having to dodge hugs.

Dd's school are still having parents evening via phone call so that's something.

indigoemerald · 10/09/2021 11:45

Lane swims at my local pool! Max of 8 people per lane, lovely.

They’ve recently got rid of all lane swim sessions though so you now have to try and lane swim in “general swim” sessions instead Sad

Public transport The pub
Nooooo pubs were worse! No atmosphere. Public transport definitely better though.
BobbinThreadbare123 · 10/09/2021 11:47

There was no hugging, no cheek kissing
Pub table service - much more chilled atmosphere and no giant men pushing me out of the way

squee123 · 10/09/2021 11:47

Soft play. Reduced numbers and more regular cleaning. Bliss

Mamamamasaurus · 10/09/2021 11:49

Shopping. Namely - smelly people oj in the supermarket. People stayed far enough away so you couldn't smell them, most of the time

This one, i'm going to try and continue it but fear my MIL has other ideas...
Peppaismyrolemodel · 10/09/2021 12:03

Parks were empty 💪😬🥳

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 10/09/2021 12:03

Staggered school drop offs. Now its back to parking carnage and playground bottlenecks.

RuthW · 10/09/2021 12:04

Everything!

idontlikealdi · 10/09/2021 12:06

Yes to online parents evening and no nots. Got the nit letter a week after they were back in school. Also phased drop off and pick up worked so much better than the free for all it has gone back to.

Not having the awkward are we kissing / hugging / two cheeks or one dance

TheLovelinessOfDemons · 10/09/2021 12:06

Well, if people had obeyed the rules in Sainsbury's, it would have been marvellous. Get the fuck away from me! I'm autistic.

herecomesthsun · 10/09/2021 12:07

My Dc who is a bit neurodiverse had fewer problems walking into people (which they normally tend to do)

Bells3032 · 10/09/2021 12:09

Eating out...not having other people on top of me and not having the noise.

Controversial but much prefer the new GP system. not having to schlep to the GP to get basic questions or prescriptions. Call in the am, GP calls back later....no parking, no waiting forever in the car park and actually get to speak to the GP the same day.

ThoughtThingsWereGreat · 10/09/2021 12:09

I really loved how empty London was - for the first couple of months. After that it just made me sad, seeing my city without its people.

Now they’re back again and it’s great (but I can still bitch about crowds and queues!)

NannyAndJohn · 10/09/2021 12:11

Pretty much everything, actually.

Safer both Covid-wise and proximity-to-men-wise.

JustStartingOut1 · 10/09/2021 12:11

Public Transport.

Still don't know how I coped being packed in like sardines and catching a cold every other week.

I'm also a complete introvert so loved not feeling obliged to attend parties, work night outs, etc.

Lockdown was a dream for me in a lot of ways (apart from not seeing 5/6 close family) - I'm slightly sad that it's all going back to "normal". Normal definitely suits more extroverted personalities (nothing wrong with that but was a nice change).
