I tested positive for coronavirus towards the end of July. I recovered and felt fine for about 2 weeks, then all of a sudden experienced severe abdominal pains followed my severe chest pain going down my arm. I keep getting fevers on and off, even night sweats and awful headaches where I feel spaced out and dizzy.
All my body aches even my bones, and I have no appetite consequently have lost a lot of weight.

Today I’ve also had nausea, migraine causing vision problems and diarrhoea :(
I’ve had a chest x ray which seems to have shown nothing causing my pain, and I’ve also had a gyno ultrasound to find cause of pain which again showed nothing. Had bloods done looking for infection etc whilst at A&E and no one can seem to help me. I’m getting really down about this as I haven’t been myself for a long time and I’m missing a lot of time off work

Please let me know your thoughts

Mel or female ?
How old ?
Which arm is the pain going down ?

lannistunut · 03/09/2021 07:35

Yes, it could be, but we can't advise.

You have to go back to the GP and keep hassling for tests, especially heart.

If you feel worried about emergencies e.g. heart attack, stroke then present at A&E, don't wait. Read up on the NHS website when to treat something as urgent.

Ayeshaxxx · 03/09/2021 08:18

Thanks for the responses @GoodnightGrandma and @lannistunut

The pain goes down my left arm but since I’ve had it for so long I’ve been to a&e 6 times because whenever I’ve told someone I have chest pain they’ve sent me there immediately. Had multiple ecgs and they said the rhythm is totally normal x

Also I’m female 25 years old

I would ask your GP if it could be covid-related. It isn't going to be classed as long covid until 12 weeks. If your GP is the type to fob you off, get an appointment with someone else - I wait for the good GP at our practice!!

Innocenta · 03/09/2021 09:14

Have you had an echocardiogram? (Ultrasound of your heart.)

GoodnightGrandma · 03/09/2021 09:27

Would you say you’re an anxious person ?
I ask because my DH started with health complaints, and after an awful lot of scans, operations etc it was found to be anxiety. Antidepressants were life changing for him.
I’m not trying to fob you off, it’s a genuine question.

lannistunut · 03/09/2021 09:30

Agree anxiety/stress is a legitimate parallel line of enquiry. Also not a fob off from me.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 03/09/2021 09:44

I think it's early days, with flu I was 6 weeks before even being able to feel vaguely normal and every day was a challenge. It takes a long time to get over any nasty virus.

JS87 · 03/09/2021 10:00

Some people do seem to recover from initial infection before coming down with long covid. It doesn’t mean you will necessarily be ill for a long time though so try not to worry. I’d try posting in some long covid support groups on Facebook in addition to seeing GP again.
The nausea today is probably from the migraine.

Ayeshaxxx · 03/09/2021 10:55

Hi thanks for all the replies!
I do suffer from anxiety which definitely won’t be helping things. I just never considered anxiety could be route cause of things like fever. The stomach pains came on so abruptly aswell and theyre really sharp, along with the chest pain.

Doc reckons could be some thing with my colon coincided with costocondritis but no explanation for fever and migraines.

One hospital said I had kidney infection as I had high white blood cells in my urine test but then another hospital said I showed no sign of infection whatsoever

One of the op’s my DH had was because they considered costochondritis.
He was constantly clearing his throat so he thought he had throat cancer.
He struggled to swallow so thought he had cancer of the oesophagus.
He lost lots of weight due to not being able to eat/swallow, attributing it to cancer.
Had a funny feeling at a certain point on his abdomen, again thought it was cancer.
So many other symptoms that I can’t remember. It was anxiety.

Ayeshaxxx · 03/09/2021 12:29

That’s crazy anxiety can cause that many symptoms. My anxiety is usually due to a particular life stress but recently I’ve actually been really happy so for all these symptoms to appear so random is so strange!
I must admit cancer has crossed my mind occasionally, with the bone pain, I also was struggling to swallow and the chest pain. The doctor very quickly dismissed this due to my age but still I like to know what’s going on

I am less sure about anxiety and an actual fever.

Choconuttolata · 03/09/2021 13:48

Yes it could be. I have long Covid. Go to Long Covid SOS and join the support group. Lots of information on there and others with similar symptoms. Feel free to PM me if you need more signposting to information.

JS87 · 03/09/2021 14:20

My sil was diagnosed with costochondritis. Later she found out she’d had covid after a while host of other problems stemming from covid. I honestly think it’s more likely to be long covid than anxiety but then post viral illnesses such as ME/CFS have a whole history of being put down to anxiety rather than an actual condition!

SleepyMathematician · 03/09/2021 14:21

Certainly could be, sounds very like it to me. However, you should make sure everything else is ruled out to be on the safe side.
I had recurring temperatures for a good few moths after Covid, and a lot of the other things you’re describing. I’m on a long Covid support group and this was common.

But as I say, you do need to ensure nothing else is going on.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 03/09/2021 15:22

Never heard of anxiety causing a fever- hot and clammy but not a peoper elevated temperature.

Kitchendrama1 · 03/09/2021 16:11

Have you been vaccinated?

Refreshpage · 03/09/2021 17:07

Sounds like my ex, so many symptoms and all came back negative. He is being treated for anxiety. Anxiety can Manifest in many long covid like symptoms
Pootle40 · 03/09/2021 18:13

Yep I've had a fever and a generally feeling of flu with anxiety. Not flu because it always goes away after a good nights sleep. Chest pains - tick.

Pootle40 · 03/09/2021 18:14

A feeling of a blocked throat is common. Dizziness / head rushes / hearing problems. The list is endless.

Ayeshaxxx · 03/09/2021 20:28

I’m starting to consider long COVID as a real option now, I didn’t even consider it before as I thought since I had a healthy period between I would be fine. I’m drinking lots of water resting etc just trying to get better.

Doctor seems to think I’ll get better over time and said to get back in touch if I still feel rough in 2 weeks.

Ayeshaxxx · 03/09/2021 20:32

Also quite bad on a side note- when I’d been to a&e the doctor told me she wrote a in detail letter to my gp with recommended tests and a copy of my x ray. He said he has received neither, and he has no record of me going to a&e 2/3 times. Surely they’re meant to log these things, especially considering I had blood tests done all 3 times and my doctor wanted to see the results and what the tests were
