I can't work this out from the gov.uk website, if one family member has symptoms, should the other family members get a pcr test (and self isolate in the meantime), or would that only be advised if someone in the family had an actual positive test?
@Twickerhun I’ve just found this which you could say backs up not allowing close contacts to attend a setting as we also have a duty of care to safeguard other children who attend.
Its a shame teachers and schools can't safeguard thier pupils from being put at greater risk of catching covid.

A childminder freind said
On a childminder page someone said 2 cases is classed as an outbreak so how does that work, I mean it is on the infectious disease list which means we have to do our best to minimise the spread!

Is 2 the official number for an outbreak.
Can local phe Council choose close down school or nurseries if there's too many cases?
As last year the head worked with local public health.

Its worse at seniors as lots take public transport so put the wider public at risk.
But then primaries and nursery blind as kids only test if they have symptoms of covid.

My youngest is 3 and starts nursery school sept but i have power keep her off and isolate if 1 if us has covid.
As shes not compulsory school age.

In regards to school say I get covid.
Would school honestly expect me to leave the house to do the school run and possibly drop off my infected child?
I'm guessing be lots of unauthorised abuse if parents are responsible and do the right thing.

My eldest is doing gcses and 1 of her teachers is undergoing chemo..
Shes double jabbed and they were wearing masks in that class I worry about this teacher in September I feel shes under massive risk.

Opinion seems to be split on charging, from what I've seen. Some are saying they will charge full fee, some partial fee. Most are saying no fee at all, though.

I've also seen some nurseries discussing continued exclusion. No idea if they'd charge or not.

Well, exactly! It feels like we have to break the law to keep the law!
PHE are telling settings to close if there's an outbreak of norovirus, so I imagine they'll do the same with Covid.

Our nursery is keeping bubbles but no word on what they are doing with close contact isolation. I’ll certainly be asking for my fees back if they do not allow my child into nursery because of close contact. Legally, from today, I’m entitled to childcare even if she is a close contact in my opinion!

Nurseries have the added headache of trying to maintain an adequate staff ratio. If they don't have enough staff in, they have to refuse to take children in the room(s) affected.

@Daisy829

Sorry - missed your point about compensation for lost fees.
I think they’re offering the fifth SEISS (self employment) grant to make up for lost profit, so I doubt there will be any further help apart from that.
