I just really hope people that are pleased by this realise it cannot be enforced? These businesses can 'recommend, ask, request' anything they like, but as its no longer a legal requirement they cannot enforce it, as all anyone has to say is no or I'm exempt and that's it! Private businesses may be able to but may well be procescuted under the disabilities act! So honestly please don't think that because these places are putting up signage or announcing stuff on the tannoy that people will listen! I think you may be in for a shock!

Viviennemary · 15/07/2021 23:29

It wasn't enforced before. I hardly think being able to buy a lanyard and print off a card from the internet enforcing.

QueefofSheena · 15/07/2021 23:33

Christ, I know quite a few fit, youngish, double vaccinated people with Covid at the moment and it’s kicking their arses. Not badly enough to go to be admitted but still awful. There are some massive twats on this thread, just wear a mask for the time it takes to shop, you aren’t that special.

gardeninggirl68 · 15/07/2021 23:40

I know a few young people with covid right now, it's mild. One of dc girlfriends has it as well as 2 weekend staff at work. One didn't know they even had it!

No idea which variant though

JaceLancs · 16/07/2021 00:29

I struggle with masks due to claustrophobia and was really looking forward to next week and not being continually challenged about ‘non compliance’
If not much is changing I will vote with my feet - I’m fed up with being made to feel sub human or a second class citizen
I will take my £ elsewhere

JaceLancs · 16/07/2021 00:31

So far - thank you to my local Costa and Sainsbury’s - you have been sympathetic and respectful

MercyBooth · 16/07/2021 00:58

Here comes the litmus test 28c over the weekend.

Wanttocry · 16/07/2021 06:05

Tesco's and Sainsbury's have improved a lot, if they say they are supporting mask wearing and covid measures then presumably they plan to keep things that way.

Actually, I think I read that Sainsbury’s are removing some of the other covid measures, such as screens between the self-checkout tills, and between queues at regular tills. They’re keeping the ones between the cashier and customer though (it may have been Tesco I read this about, but I think it was Sainsbury’s).

@Fangsalot89

You’re the one who gets abusive.

Enjoy Monday Grin.

Fangsalot89 · 16/07/2021 08:17

@Chillychangchoo 🎣 😂

Chillychangchoo · 16/07/2021 08:56

@Fangsalot89

Thought the conversation had expired? You love it. Copying again I see 🤣 🎣 .

Fangsalot89 · 16/07/2021 09:00

@Chillychangchoo Oh the conversation really has expired but I can’t help baiting you to keep responding with garbage and you do. It’s funny.
Be like Elsa.

Chillychangchoo · 16/07/2021 09:10

@Fangsalot89

What’s hilarious is you’ve put yourself on an imaginary pedestal, and you’re projecting so you’re essentially laughing at yourself. And that is rather funny.

🤣👍

ilovesooty · 16/07/2021 09:12

Is this juvenile exchange still going?

Fangsalot89 · 16/07/2021 09:16

@Chillychangchoo What’s funny is that this conversation between us started because I said people should still be forced to wear masks and it boggles my mind we are even getting a choice. You’ve taken umbrage with it because it inconveniences you spending 5 minutes getting a pizza and seem to think your comfort outweighs the health of those around you. As a subsequent result you’ve determined my entire personality, which quite frankly is amazing.
🤣

Fangsalot89 · 16/07/2021 09:18

@ilovesooty It is. Sadly, sometimes we all like grovelling around in the mud for a few minutes.

gardeninggirl68 · 16/07/2021 09:20

Nobody has ever been forced to wear masks though......it's always been personal choice

People just walk into buildings and without stopping they call over their shoulder, 'I'm exempt'

People really think the public have been so so compliant ....they haven't Grin

MrsSkylerWhite · 16/07/2021 09:21

Good, sensible.

Chillychangchoo · 16/07/2021 09:22

@Fangsalot89

We have already had that debate though. You don’t think people should be given a choice, and I think they should be given a choice. You’re intolerant of people who don’t wish to wear masks.

I am not intolerant of other people’s choices.

You are.

Fangsalot89 · 16/07/2021 09:25

@Chillychangchoo ok 🤣

Chillychangchoo · 16/07/2021 09:27

@Fangsalot89

Glad you agree.

soredust · 16/07/2021 09:29

There are some massive twats on this thread, just wear a mask for the time it takes to shop, you aren’t that special.

Nothing is stopping you from wearing a mask if you choose to do so. Likewise, other people have the choice to not wear a mask. Personal responsibility.
