Is everyone taking vitamin d?

IHateFlies · 09/07/2021 09:39

There are a few studies now that shows that taking vitamin d could be extremely beneficial to reduce the severity of symptoms. It seems that many people are not aware of this.
Now that all restrictions are lifting, shouldn’t this information be more widespread?

Is everyone taking vitamin d?

Every day
Without fail op
And vit k2

I take lots of good quality supplements

DramaAlpaca · 11/07/2021 14:32

Yes, I've taken it for years but doubled my dose when covid started. A recent blood test showed my levels are good.

shewalkslikerihanna · 11/07/2021 14:38

@delilahbucket
Yes us too
Never had covid or a cold since starting it 2 years ago
Also gf and df helps as we are both intolerant
It’s a bind but we are healthy
Also take herbs, zinc, vit b complex, melatonin
I take about 28 supplements with breakfast each morning
Homeopathy and herbs as well
Sleep well/ eat well/ digestion and elimination process all great
After suffering for a lot of years

DramaAlpaca · 11/07/2021 14:39

Yes, now you mention it I haven't had so much as a sniffle since taking vitamin D.

shewalkslikerihanna · 11/07/2021 14:43

@Lellochip
When I suffered badly with fatigue I started taking nutri’s adrenomax and adrenal extra
Which helped
But I think dairy and gluten and the inflammation they caused were at the bottom of a lot of this
It stands to reason if your body is constantly fighting inflammation it’s going to feel knackered

Love a good health thread me 😁

Indigopearl · 11/07/2021 14:48

Can anyone point me in the direction of any studies that show causation rather than just correlation?

My understanding is that the studies all show lower levels of vitamin d in those hospitalised by covid but we don't know if this is due to low levels of vitamin d or an underlying condition that causes low levels of vitamin d.

shewalkslikerihanna · 11/07/2021 14:49

@DramaAlpaca
Do you take zinc as well?
I also take iodine and ionic selenium
Black pepper with turmeric
Coq10, nac for brain health
Brew my own colloidal silver
Digestive enzymes
Probiotics
I make my own ‘ viragon’ which I put in my soup when I balked at paying £50 for a small bottle it’s mainly all the good stuff out of garlic, onions, jalapeños, horseradish etc
I make it in vodka
Blows your head off so a teaspoon in home made soup is quite sufficient

FinallyMrsE · 11/07/2021 14:52

I was and I was suffering continuously (about 3 months without one) with cold sores, when I read up on it I found vitD in some people was the cause, it recommended vitB to stop them and it worked. So no I’m not taking them anymore

Delatron · 11/07/2021 14:54

I think frustratingly the studies on Covid were inconclusive. I know some doctors in Spain were giving patients with Covid high doses of vitamin D with good effect. But you need lots of research, then it needs to be peer reviewed etc etc.

I said on another thread about this, we don’t have time for those studies and research! Thousands are dying. At least the government finally sent out some vitamin D to the CEV.

Despite the lack of clear evidence with regards to Covid. There is evidence out there that it can help to stop respiratory illnesses becoming more severe.

When I had cancer I did huge amounts of research in to this area and it convinced me to make sure mine and my families levels are topped up and in the right ranges.

It’s beneficial for so many things and low levels can make you feel very crap!

DramaAlpaca · 11/07/2021 14:56

@shewalkslikerihanna yes, I take zinc as well, plus turmeric and glucosamine for my joints, calcium and a heap of supplements for menopausal women. It costs me a fortune but I feel good on it Grin

shewalkslikerihanna · 11/07/2021 15:01

Wow @DrNo007
So wrong
I spend upwards of £200 a month on my health
That £40 therapy massage by a top anma therapist per month
£60 on my medical dowser about 4-6!weeks
He’s really helped me turn my life around
The rest is on herbals, supplements etc

Don’t drink or smoke
We eat out about once a week
My life isn’t perfect but is 95 per cent better
I healed my own severe tooth ache where I had pain in tooth and the trigeminal nerve, up to left eye, left ear and left throat last June when all the dentists were shut
Pain woke me up at night
I used herbs and homeopathy by the time I’d got to see the dentist with a broken tooth
The pain had gone
I still have the much needed tooth too

I’ve healed so many things myself now
I never say cured
Things can come back, after all we walk through a soup of pathogens
So they do
But now I know how to treat myself
It’s been a long slow journey

shewalkslikerihanna · 11/07/2021 15:08

You and I are on the same page @DramaAlpaca 👍
Have you tried msm powder
I take that daily
Also look at N acetyl cysteine it’s one of the components of glutathione
I feel so much more vitality with that

If anyone was to ask me for advice it’s too look to your elimination and digestion process
We aren’t taught enough about it in the west and it’s vital
There’s a school of thought that you should poop after every meal
Also water. Good quality water
Not tea, juice
Water
You must not let your organs dry out and your body will squeeze the poop to get every bit of water if you are dehydrated
Then you end up constipated

Everything should flow

shewalkslikerihanna · 11/07/2021 15:09

Ps im very bad at drinking water
Then play catch up on a night 👍

shewalkslikerihanna · 11/07/2021 15:15

Nice to see you@ppeatfruit
I’ve been wondering how you’ve been faring
Ravensara
I shall look into That is it an oil

MiniMaxi · 11/07/2021 15:31

Thank you for reminding me! I’ve been a bit lax in the old vitamin taking lately.

shewalkslikerihanna · 11/07/2021 15:50

It’s a lovely thread.
I’ve found my tribe
Me and dh are seen as bits of oddbods
He is 68 and is on tablets
He’s already had blood clots
But I’m not on anything

PumpkinKlNG · 11/07/2021 15:51

Nope

Whathefisgoingon · 11/07/2021 17:45

Having never had my vit d levels tested in my life, I started using the “better you” spray last summer. I use it sporadically now but did have my levels checked at the GP and they were in the normal range!

ppeatfruit · 12/07/2021 10:21

Oh hello ohshewalks Grin Yes I'm doing well, and you? Ravensara is an essential oil you can usually get it in a HF shop in Eng. I know my hairdresser burns it in her shop, a mix especially against viruses and bacteria, but I don't know where she gets it.

I so agree with not eating a "traditional" diet Iam wheat free, and vegan (mainly raw) . Not completely by any means! I love hot veg soup and spelt toast when it's cold !

shewalkslikerihanna · 18/07/2021 16:03

There’s an 82 year old guy
Lives in n yorks
Has eaten raw for 12years
Fit as a butchers dog
Never gets ill
Uses the forests as his gym

ppeatfruit · 19/07/2021 09:06

Though if he eats the wrong type of food for his blood type (whether it's organic ,raw or not ) it might cause him some troubles eventually. I haven't ever joined a gym. Still my weight and health is V. good for 70!
