Sat outside the vaccination centre.. I can’t go in

I don’t even know why I’m posting on
here.

I’ve been on the phone to 111 and to an NHS mental health support team, but I may as well have not bothered.

I’m sat outside the vaccination centre to get my second AZ and I just cannot go in.
I’ve never felt fear / panic like I am feeling right now. I’m so frightened about getting a blood clot.

I’m so desperate to be fully vaccinated but I’m absolutely petrified to have my second dose.
I feel like walking in there is a death sentence, I equally feel staying out here to catch Covid, is a death sentence.

There’s been such a buzz at work recently amongst colleagues getting their vaccines (we’re all under 40) but all I feed is dread and fear.

I can’t live my life like this. I just can’t.

It’s a terrible fucking situation to be in and I’m not happy with either option I face.
I just don’t know what to do anymore :(

Speak to the helpline about it tomorrow. No point stressing now.

ScrollingLeaves · 17/06/2021 00:17

As you are under 40 won’t they give an alternative to AZ?

ScrollingLeaves · 17/06/2021 00:23

Louby08

I didn’t go in. I just couldn’t do it.

I’m so mentally exhausted. I came home and
got into bed. 😔

You did the right thing under the circumstances. Poor you feeling that way. I hope you feel calmer soon. You can ask for further advice when you feel ready.

Funfortheroad · 17/06/2021 00:25

Sending you hugs, OP. Please try not to beat yourself up. Remember - you ARE vaccinated, you are just not boostered. Covid rates are low. Population immunity is high, through vaccine and infection. Fewer people than ever before will be capable of transmitting it. You are young and vanishingly unlikely to get serious Covid even if you did get it. And on top of that the doctors now know all kinds of treatments that they didn't a year and a bit ago. There are plenty of hospital beds. Everything is ok, it really is.

Excited101 · 17/06/2021 01:10

Please go again op, take a friend with you.

Silkiecats · 17/06/2021 01:21

I would discuss with GP and if you want to go back next time take a friend or DH with you. I've had quite a few blood spots after the first which worried me but no obvious blood clot symptoms, when I spoke to doctor they did offer me a blood test (FBC I think) and said that would show if low platelets or not. I haven't done it but if you do get symptoms after you just call GP or 111 and get seen. If you didn't get any of the blood clot symptoms after first would think it would be fine.

Oops, typo above - I meant BRET Weinstein. Not Bert.

YarnOver · 17/06/2021 11:06

Even if you got a blood clot, which you won't, they're treatable. It's not a death sentence.
Either way you need mental health support. You have tried to get some I appreciate that but unfortunately it's sometimes not so easy to get the help you need and you need to really push for it. But you need to do that because you can't continue like this it isn't rational and it's no way to live.

Cornettoninja · 17/06/2021 11:40

Jesus @Celticwaves what on earth are you thinking?!? The OP is clearly emotionally vulnerable and your advising her to search out stuff that at best is backed by an opinion masquerading as fact?

@Louby08 please don’t google terms like that poster advised. It’s not going to lead you down a path that does anything but heighten your anxiety.

I think I’ve read your posts before; I don’t think it’s as clear cut for you as just deciding not to have it. That’s a perfectly legitimate decision btw, but it’s not one that helps you if I remember rightly.

Well done for getting as far as the centre. That’s a big step. But I think you know that you have to tackle your underlying anxiety to be able to come to a final decision about vaccines and be able to move on. I really feel for you Flowers

Bellringer · 17/06/2021 11:46

Obviously you know nothing about it

Bellringer · 17/06/2021 11:48

That was to yarnover

Celticwaves · 17/06/2021 11:49

The Australian Department of Health announced on Thursday that it will be limiting the AstraZeneca vaccine to over-60s, days after reports of the second death of someone who received the jab “likely linked” to blood clots.

How much longer can the UK get away with putting this into people's bodies when so many other countries see serious problems with it?

@Cornettoninja - I provided information to the man who INVENTED mRHA vaccines - just one of the top vaccine experts in the world. Why do you wish to silence people listening to what he has to say?

Cornettoninja · 17/06/2021 12:02

I presume you think I reported you? (I didn’t. I can’t be arsed with reporting).

Post whatever actual name you want but you were advising her to google specific terms which you know will bring up questionable stuff. Based off that alone I wouldn’t trust your judgement. Add to that your determination to take the opportunity to make clearly biased statements I don’t think you actually have the OP’s best interests in mind. You’re recruiting/campaigning at best.
