Cinemas
Eating out
Weddings
Travel
Sporting fixtures
Is there compulsory Mask wearing
Are we all getting there? Please mention the country.

What's the rest of Australia like? We hear how well Australia has done (death rate wise), what's the infection rate like at present?

South Australian. Not had a case outside hotel quarantine in months (apart from the one we infected IN quarantine and sent to Melbourne Blush )

QR check ins everywhere which are policed. Masks on planes. Otherwise normal life. Going to a gig in a week. Border shut to Victoria but open to everywhere else. I don’t really have any fear because there are literally no cases (and we have waste water monitoring)

Only thing is when you book interstate holidays you can’t get too excited in case the borders shut and you can’t go but that is getting less common.

Cantstandsmugness · 11/06/2021 11:20

It’s really interesting that June 21st seems to be a common date for the ease of restrictions!
Keep em coming - am loving the replies, it’s making me feel so positive that the end of the tunnel is coming!

I hope those of you with responsible proactive governments who acted fast to keep your infections low are able to keep the Delta variant out of your populations.

In the UK we have poor leadership and too many individuals who refuse to comply when asked to follow rules in order to help us keep numbers down.

When this is mixed with the Delta variant you have the perfect storm to cancel out lifting restrictions. Honestly it’s a nightmare. Keep your borders shut so none of us Brits can come and spread our fate in your countries.

Slovenia. Pretty much business as usual, only masks still obligatory for adults and teens for indoor public spaces and public transport. Pubs and restaurants are open, but have to shut at 10pm. Everything still closed on Sundays.

Borders are open, if you've had both doses of the vaccine you don't need a test, and no quarantine for most nationalities, if vaccinated.

That’s sounds impressive

What proportion of the population is double vaccinated?

@Ostara212
How does the corona pass work please?

There's an app, or you can use the more day-to-day health app. When you've had a PCR test within the last 72 hours, or been infected within the last 240 days, or 14 days after your first jab, it'll display on the app.

As of Monday they're already starting the phase it out, so it'll be needed for fewer things. It's planned to be phased out completely.

There is a strong political will, both among the opposition and parties within the ruling coalition, to do away with it as soon as practically possible. People aren't concerned about it.

Thank you

Which places make you show the app at the moment?

QioiioiioQ · 11/06/2021 12:01

Great thread thank you🙏
(Although embarrassing for us Brits)

LaTomatina · 11/06/2021 12:06

MarshaBradyo everyone who wants to be, vulnerable or over 50, is now double vaccinated here, and many adults under 50 have now had at least one dose.

newstart1234 · 11/06/2021 12:18

The corona pass in shown everywhere except retail and eating where there is no seating area (vending carts basically). Library, swimming, amusement places, pub, restaurants, gym etc. Work places also need one (Not sure this is everywhere, I mostly cannot wfh and don’t know if this makes a difference) although it’s not shown on the way in. They’re trying to change it so you don’t need to show it but just have it in the event that you are asked to show it, the assumption is that there is a fine for people without- similar to driving licence). I haven’t ever known it not to be asked for though again it’s their theoretically possible. It’s been very effective at keeping cases low and things open and so I sense that it will be generally supported until the vaccine rollout is finished.

HoppSuisse · 11/06/2021 12:24

Switzerland.
Pretty everything except nightclubs is open. Outdoor dining has six person limit, indoors its four. Cinema is 50% capacity, with a max of 100 people for places with more than 200 seats. Concerts are same ( seated only at the moment).

Masks are needed for all indoor public places and transport - compliance with this is high. Also needed at the zoo. Schools only closed for six months last Spring, but masks have been required at schools for kids over 12 (and 10 in some cantons).

I believe everyone over 50 or in a risk group is double vaccinated by now, and most everyone else will have at at least one shot by end of June. Pfizer and Moderna are used, its four weeks between jabs.

We are joinning the EU covid certificate scheme from begining of July. With that, we can scan the QR code provided after the second vaccine and should be able to use it then to travel without testing or quarantine to any country accepting it. Ireland have said they will take it from July 19th and I have booked a flight for July 20th - really hoping all stays on track with that so I can finally visit my family.

HoppSuisse · 11/06/2021 12:26

Thanks I'm thinking of essential access places so good to hear that shops aren't included. Is public transport included? i also wonder how homeless people manage in terms of accessing overnight shelter or day centres where they can get showers....and places of worship, the local places here supply a lot of free meals to homeless people and those in need.

Sorry for all the questions and thank you for answering them.

No, thanks. I'm happy with the situation as is. Not that it's up to me, but I'm delighted Brits can come to Iceland.

ineedaholidaynow · 11/06/2021 12:34

Have people had issues with corona pass or other country equivalent? Thinking of the marches and protests, and people on MN complaining about COVID passport. Also the number of people on here who refuse to comply with test and trace and regular LFT testing.

PuffinShop · 11/06/2021 12:53

Just been announced today that from 15 June the 150 limit is going up to 300 and opening hours for bars etc. extended to midnight. They plan to remove all internal restrictions on 1 July.

The over 16 population of Iceland is 295,298 and 43.6% of these are fully vaccinated. 29.2% are half vaccinated and 2.2% have naturally acquired immunity. They are due to start with the chronically ill in the 12-15 age range around the middle of the month. By 25 June everyone aged 16 or over will have been offered at least one dose.

newstart1234 · 11/06/2021 12:57

I’m not aware of any resistance to the corona pass aside from some businesses and opposition politicians who are quite understandably voicing their view. People grumble about getting tested, like people grumble about paying taxes, it’s a small personal sacrifice for a larger wider benefit. There hasn’t been protests or such I don’t think.

newstart1234 · 11/06/2021 12:58

There is good digital infrastructure to support the ID, eg, everyone (homeless people included) has a digital signature which makes everything more streamlined.

NewLevelsOfTiredness · 11/06/2021 13:02

Nah, not public transport. Trains (the intercity ones, not the inner city ones) require a seat reservation at the moment to ensure that don't get too busy. I usually just book one for free on the travel app on the way to the station.
Not sure about the homeless folk unfortunately.

From Monday libraries and a few other things are already off the coronapas list.

With the rise in our case numbers the last few weeks I think your delight may change if you get the Delta variant in your country. Especially with your soon to be new freedoms, it would spread even faster.
PuffinShop · 11/06/2021 13:30

I'm not worried about it, it's already been detected here in early May.

It’s already there? Wow, I didn’t know that, watch our numbers over the next few weeks, you’ll be on a similar trajectory within a month or two. Good luck.
NewLevelsOfTiredness · 11/06/2021 13:36

How does a person have a digital ID please?

Everyone here has a CPR nr. - essentially your registered person number. It's used for everything official. Certainly more than a British NI No. is used for.

A few years ago they introduced something called NemID, which was a little card with codes on it tied to your CPR No. It was initially used for banking then more and more things. Then it became an app on your phone (although the card is still an option.) So you have a centralised health account, an 'e-boks' account (essentially an official inbox where you get any official letters.) and you use the same app to authenticate to log in to all of it. Including the corona passport, corona test results etc.

It all works well and there's high trust in the government (whether it's red or blue in power at the time) not to abuse it.

A homeless person will know their CPR no. They don't really need anything else.

PuffinShop · 11/06/2021 13:39

Well, we'll see won't we. Certainly our epidemiologists disagree and they've done a better job than yours so far, haven't they?
