What do you think will change for the fully vaccinated

My sister and her husband are living in the US (have done for many years)

They are both fully vaccinated and things there are different for them now, the rule there is, once you are fully vaccinated you can live a “pre pandemic” life.

For instance, they are no longer required to socially distance.
They don’t have to wear masks (unless required by federal, state or local laws)
If they have been in contact with a positive Covid case, they do not have to test or self isolate, unless they develop symptoms.

What changes do you think we will see here in the UK for the fully vaccinated?

We'll have to ask the dogs to help.

French trial shows dogs were able to detect presence of coronavirus with 97% accuracy

@StrawberryLipstickStateOfMind

It's all about masks now is it?

FFS is it that difficult to wear one when you pop into a shop or whatever? I'm doubly vaccinated and couldn't give a shit about still wearing a mask. For anyone who can't wear one for whatever reason, it's totally different- I've thought that all along. But then those people have never had to wear masks.

DD works 10 hour shifts in hot restaurant kitchens. She's loving not having to wear a mask any more now she's vaccinated.

As long as any freedoms are extended to children or those who cannot have the vaccine.

Not much by the looks of it.

@Malteser71

Fair or not.

I’ve been fully vaccinated since March. Can anyone explain why I have to wear a mask?

The vaccine only REDUCES transmission, it doesn’t make it zero. You are less likely to pass it to me than I am to you (only one dose so far), but it’s still possible. Continuing to wear a mask further reduces that risk. Those who aren’t fully vaccinated or are still waiting to be eligible, deserve to be protected too.

Until everyone has had the opportunity to receive maximum protection from serious illness / long covid, it makes sense that those vaccinated continue to protect others for that little bit longer.
