Just that really. Was talking to a school mum this morning and was wondering how many people are doing this?

No. I have taken one LFT when I went to visit my great grandma who is in her 90s. I kind of half planned to do it regularly but never got round to it. I also find the plastic waste pretty heinous.

Peaplant20 · 19/05/2021 21:57

I am. It’s another tool to reduce the spread and I personally would like the pandemic to end.

ihavethehighground · 19/05/2021 22:23

I've never done a test

Eaumyword · 19/05/2021 22:35

Yes. I work in a school so do it Sun and Wed. Happy to do my bit to keep myself and others safer. We've had 1 teacher test +ve on the LFT, confirmed by a PCR test and thank god, they isolated immediately rather than come in to school. They were asymptomatic.
DS (secondary) does it too.

shewalkslikerihanna · 19/05/2021 22:37

Nope not here and I don’t know anyone in rl doing it either

EileenGC · 19/05/2021 22:41

3-4 a week. If I don’t do them I’m not allowed to work. Just got the results this morning for one, first thing tomorrow morning is yet another PCR. Been like this since August and you just get used to it.

ProfessorPootle · 19/05/2021 22:59

No I’m not. Dc are primary aged, DH works out of the house but he does do them at work every now and again. I work from home. I have awful hayfever and can’t cope with sticking anything up my nose.

ginsparkles · 19/05/2021 23:23

Our household do it twice a week. Myself, DH and DM.

osbertthesyrianhamster · 19/05/2021 23:28

Never. I've never done one nor the kids.

gleegeek · 19/05/2021 23:31

Yes dd year 13 at college was asked to do it so dh and I do them too in solidarity. I don't mind giving my details as it gives a picture of which areas are affected so hopefully we get to avoid lockdown again.

passthetequila · 19/05/2021 23:37

Yes, DD and I do them twice per week. We both work in a school, she is fully vaccinated and I have had my first jab. Many of our children (secondary aged all with special needs) testing twice weekly too.

LaurieFairyCake · 19/05/2021 23:43

Not once yet

changi · 19/05/2021 23:45

My husband and I work in higher education and we are "required" to do two a week now f2f teaching has resumed.

BackforGood · 19/05/2021 23:56

DH and I are as parents of primary age. It takes five minutes.

How can it only take 5mins ? The little video I was sent involved leaving it for 30mins at one point, not counting all the setting up, testing, recording results etc.

We've not been testing though - only dh and I here, and both wfh.

Mumdiva99 · 20/05/2021 06:55

@DumplingsAndStew please reread my post. I never called the op irresponsible. That's name calling.
She asked if we are testing and I answered yes. Then I said we had all been asked to test.....

bengalcat · 20/05/2021 06:57

Yes . Fully vaccinated and work on the frontline .

AuntieMarys · 20/05/2021 06:58

Not me. Haven't had a Covid test at all.

Jessicabrassica · 20/05/2021 07:06

Yes. I work for NHS. DH works in school. We've both been doing it since Feb. Most of my friends work in health or education so I'm really confident that the transmission risks are low between us. We've had people round, car shared etc.

lovee the co

teaandcake22 · 20/05/2021 07:06

Yes twice a week. Need to go into work a couple of times a week and we have been asked (and they have supplied the tests) to do the tests before coming in. My husband does them as and when - probably once a week.

kimlo · 20/05/2021 07:10

we are.

I do them for work, dd2 does them for school, dh does them because he lives with school children.

Dd1 doesn't because she isn't 90 days from a positive pcr yet.

lljkk · 20/05/2021 07:23

We don't. All I know about other ppl is below. Oh, and they don't seem to have home LFT in USA. My relatives were baffled at the idea.

Friend (100% WFH) has a CV boyfriend, manages part of local LFT programme. Recently she was working 70 hr weeks & couldn't even get to supermarket, but she had 5 days holiday in an airBnB, too. I bet she LFTs 2x/week.

86yr old neighbour. Double vaccinated weeks ago. Semi-housebound & Only sees his dog walkers (only outdoors) & a relative who cleans his home once a week. He got an LFT because he thought he should, before visit the pub on Monday. I suspect it was his 1st LFT ever.

andweallsingalong · 20/05/2021 07:30

I got a pile of tests with the best of intentions, but only tend to do them when something makes me think my risk might have increased - case at work or the slightest sign of a cough or cold. We were supposed to be doing them twice a week at work, which I'd have been fine with, but they never got their act together.

(One primary child, low risk area, hybrid working, 1st vax about 6 weeks ago. School bubbles never broken and we've had 2 issues at work, first time around 3 people caught it, before lateral flows, second just one came back from leave, tested due to a sore throat and was positive, none close contacts they're pretty good with social distancing)

headintheproverbial · 20/05/2021 07:42

We're not. Kids are at nursery / primary age, I'm fully vaccinated and DH has had his first jab, we both fully work from home.

Would think about it if travelling regularly to the office but even so being fully vaccinated I'm not sure I'd bother.

RaspberryCoulis · 20/05/2021 07:47

Nope, not the adults, or the teenagers. I've never done a LFT test and neither has DH. Think the kids maybe did one each before Easter.

Rillington · 20/05/2021 07:59

My DC are but we aren't as parents.
