Has your life been taken over by ‘the vaccine’?

Mine has and it is wreaking havoc on my mental status and anxiety-

Mainly at work as I’m not into pubs etc so my socialising is me going on a run/school pick drop etc
Today at work there were conversations around some staff wanting vaccine passports implemented so they feel safe against the unvaccinated.

I haven’t had the vaccine yet and I have a lot of anxiety around this particular vaccine. The constant push to have it doesn’t help. Anyone else feeling like this?

@soughsigh Current JCVI recommendation is for pregnant women to be vaccinated, although they recommend the moderna/pfizer (mRNA) vaccines, simply because there is more data on the safety of these in pregnancy, (i.e.not because there is any current suggestion that AZ or other vaccines are less safe in pregnancy). This has caused some difficulties as its not possible to know in advance when booking which vaccines a clinic will have available. BBC News - Pregnant women struggling to get Covid vaccine

It may be that your personal circumstances mean that you are unable to have the vaccine, but pregnancy itself is not a barrier to receiving a covid vaccine, and, in fact is a factor moving you up the priority list.

None of the vaccine itself transfers to the baby. Maternal antibodies however will, and will provide at least some protection for the newborn. Vaccination is definitely safer in pregnancy than actual covid-19 infection, but it obviously depends on your personal interpretation of the risks etc, whether you are able to largely stay at home and avoid potential infection or working with the general public or in a clinical setting and more likely to be exposed, this is something your midwife team should be able to help you work out.

Congratulations on your pregnancy and I hope you manage some lovely meals out etc before your new arrival.
