Is this a symptom of covid? Anyone else had this?

For the last 2/3 days I’ve had this intense ache & pain in both of my lower legs which as got worse. It’s there even when resting.
Is this a symptom of covid? Can’t find any other reason for it - haven’t over exerted myself more than usual or done any strenuous exercise or anything. Also feel a little bit woozy headed when walking around. Alongside that & the leg pain feels like I could just fall over as legs feel like they might give from under me.

Doc has prescribed iburofen gel but it isn’t making a difference

Get tested?

HolmeH · 28/04/2021 21:56

Your legs hurt & your first thought is ‘it must my be covid’, a respiratory illness Confused

I mean, by all means get a test but that symptom isolated on its own is very unlikely!

nonaomi · 28/04/2021 21:57

Why would you think this is Covid ?

daseychain · 28/04/2021 21:59

Can’t find any other reason for it

Really? You can't think of any other reasons your legs might hurt other than covid?

Puppylucky · 28/04/2021 22:01

Covid isn't a respiratory disease its a vascular disease. It attacks the circulatory system and causes lung - and other - problems. However with transmission rates so low it's still very unlikely to be Covid

rainbowunicorn · 28/04/2021 22:04

It is very strange that so many people are immediatley thinking Covid for every little thing. I see it on here all the time.

It is highly unlikely to be Covid.

^^ This.

It's an inflammatory and vascular illness, that can affect the respiratory system (but not always).

Muscle aches can be a symptom.

www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2021/02/210217151116.htm

Muscle soreness and achy joints are common symptoms among COVID-19 patients.

CCSS15 · 28/04/2021 22:10

I did in my thighs - it ached right in the bone and painkillers didn't really touch it. It came after about day 10 and numerous other more traditional symptoms. If you google you will see other people with it too - no harm in getting a test to find out

TCMcK · 28/04/2021 22:17

I had Covid in February & the leg pain was the worst symptom that I had, so painful. I
didn’t get the cough. I had a temperature, felt nauseous and felt lightheaded. I would get tested just to be safe.

CovidHalloween · 28/04/2021 22:26

My doctors have a sign at their surgery listing the covid symptoms which include muscle fatigue and joint aches. My brother had exactly that when he tested positive and couple of friends too. It’s not always a respiratory illness.

Vampyhooch1987 · 28/04/2021 22:32

For the people who have asked why I think it’s COVID .... I am not saying it is, I’m just merely asking if other people have had this as a symptom seeing as muscle aches etc is a known symptom.

Not everyone gets respiratory symptoms with it though do they?

Covid didn't affect my respiratory system at all. I remember having joint aches as a pp mentioned and very intense pain in my pelvis & upper thighs (kidney pain perhaps?). A throbbing headache was my first symptom though. Feeling like my legs would buckle sounds familiar. Get tested I'd say.

Not particularly no - I haven’t pulled a muscle or over exerted myself in any way. It’s both legs too so a bit odd. If it was just one then more likely to be a strained muscle or something.

My daughter and I both had jelly legs which were very noticeable. So, not the same, but related.

Mine feels from the knee down as isn’t eased at all really by resting. Feels like my legs can’t bear my weight when standing/walking at the moment if that makes sense? I have also had a migraine type headache which has made me feel nauseated for the last 3-4 days though that’s a lot better today

Btw I didn't have any of the 3 main symptoms that warranted a test (back then), still tested positive.

Was that from covid? Did anything in particular help?

I agree. A couple of people I know who had it just felt a bit more tired & achy than usual but none of the main symptoms

Yes the migraine headache and the reduced appetite due to nausea. My whole family had that.

Yes I’ll see where there is a testing centre locally. Did anything in particular help when you had the leg pain? It woke me up several times last night :( paracetamol help a bit but not a lot

I didnt have specifically achy legs but muscle aches. Definitely a migraine type headache.
I would self isolate and get a test. Sounds like you need to know either way

Chwaraeteg · 28/04/2021 22:40

I always get this before I come down with any sort of virus.

wtfisgoingonhere21 · 28/04/2021 22:44

Op did you see the dr face to face?
