Let's be truthfully honest !!! no judging,no bitchyness ,no arguments
a simple yes or no will do

1-Have you or your children started hugging your family members yet ?
2- Have you been inside someone's house?
Do you wear masks still and keep your distance if you are doing either of these?

Went inside my aunt's house on Sunday. She had doors and windows open and we sat well away from each other. She is widowed with no children. She was so pleased that I had called.

catpoooffender · 15/04/2021 22:14
  1. I only recently saw family for the first time since Christmas but my parents and I shared a kiss on the cheek, and we didn't put any restrictions on physical affection with the children. All the adults have had at least their first dose of the vaccine. With other friends I have not hugged or kissed them but I wouldn't anyway. Again, no restrictions on interacting with the (small) children.
  2. Not been in anyone's house yet.
MaddieElla · 15/04/2021 22:15

1: no. Honestly don't want to hug people.

2: I have been in my mum's house for her birthday (all vaccinated). But no hugs and we kept our distance. Wouldn't and haven't been anywhere else.

catpoooffender · 15/04/2021 22:15

Just remembered I have had limited interaction with family in my house. With windows open.

BrilloSolar · 15/04/2021 22:15

Yep

ilovesooty · 15/04/2021 22:16

No

No just my support bubble.

plopadrop · 15/04/2021 22:17

Yes. Been inside my Grandpa's house. He's very old, fully vaccinated and has made it clear he wants visitors. I'm not going to avoid him in his final years.

I've hugged my Mum a couple of times since she has been fully vaccinated, although we kept masks on.

trilbydoll · 15/04/2021 22:17

Yes we are going in our parents' houses infrequently, they've all had 1 vaccination. They are hugging the kids because I think they can't help themselves but me and dh are still keeping our distance (albeit inside a house)

rainbowthoughts · 15/04/2021 22:19

I never hugged anyone before so I won't be starting now Grin

I go in my Nannas house twice a week and have done since the summer. She managed the first knockdown alone but her functional ability has declined so much in the past few months she can no longer manage without support Sad

tappitytaptap · 15/04/2021 22:21

Yes hugged parents, in-laws, my sister in law, a friend or two... been inside my parents house and my cousins house and held her new baby.

tappitytaptap · 15/04/2021 22:21

Oh and no masks for any of this....

Thirtyrock39 · 15/04/2021 22:22

1: no but I'm really not a buggy person other than with husband and kids so that's one thing I've not missed at all
2: no- I've just been to a pub though (small village) where we sat outside but there were a few sat inside and no one had face masks on (inside) which I found quite concerning but shows some people are very relaxed now 😬

usernotfound0000 · 15/04/2021 22:22

Yes, been inside my dad's house. And been inside in-laws house, they are out childcare bubble but I know we shouldn't be socialising. Not really a hugger anyway so no to that. The only person I ever hug apart from my household is DHs granddad and sadly we haven't seen him for over a year, although he is due his second vaccine soon so hopefully we can see him soon.

BlackLambAndGreyFalcoln · 15/04/2021 22:24

No and no.

RosesandPumpkins · 15/04/2021 22:25

Yes and yes. Not loads but 1-2 times a week average. I’m done with this shit. We’ve all been vaccinated and all had covid previously.

RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 15/04/2021 22:26

No hugging, but have been in houses. We've also had builders in our house.

Parents house we all wore masks, friend's house was in the conservatory. In both cases all doors and windows were open and we tried to stay apart. Friend's kids have hugged me though. Builders started with masks, but it's hard going.

Me and my parents are vaccinated, and I test for work.

PurplePumpkinDream · 15/04/2021 22:28

I don’t like hugging at the best of times so no and no.

Noshowlomo · 15/04/2021 22:29

Yes and yes

wtfisgoingonhere21 · 15/04/2021 22:30

Yes and yes

capercaillie · 15/04/2021 22:31

No. No hugging.
One visit to my parents house when my dad came out of hospital - socially distanced and before kids went back to school etc. Would not do that now

Fishies · 15/04/2021 22:32

Thank you so much for your honest awnsers I've been pondering and stressing about it so much about ther act that I've hugged my family (even though there all vaccinated)and let the kids hug their grandparents but it feels so good to get this out and have a relationship again with my parents and know im not the only one. I feel I'm taking small steps but still being cautious thank you again for being honest

tappitytaptap · 15/04/2021 22:34

@Fishies I think most people have had enough of it now and are breaking some rules to be honest. I wouldn’t feel bad about it!

mrsknottschicken · 15/04/2021 22:36

Have not hugged anyone.

Have been in my parents’ house to use the loo over Easter when we met up for an outdoor BBQ. But their loo is literally right next to the back door. I think that’s allowed in the rules anyway. When we had our food we had separate tables more than 1m apart.

My parents are coming tomorrow for sandwiches in the garden. We won’t hug. They can use the loo if they want.

We’ve had a plumber in too. He wore a mask and so did we. All windows open and we kept our distance.

mrsknottschicken · 15/04/2021 22:37

“Outdoor BBQ” - FFS! As if any are ever indoors Grin

LizzieMacQueen · 15/04/2021 22:37

No hugs but no masks when in my wider family's presence. Probably not exactly 2 m distance but we tried.

Only been inside to use the toilet, once, when visiting my sister's garden.
