No holidays abroad will affect poorer people more

I haven't been on holiday abroad or in the Uk since 2008, this year we were finally due to go to away to Greece with my 2 young children. Now cost of passports is a barrier for the poorer family like us, but I can't see I can afford a Uk holiday now Sad I just feel sad, another year we won't go anywhere. We've paid so it will have to be moved, they won't refund.

Has Boris said when Zoos and farms will open ? I've no idea what we will do. We live a long way from the beach petrol wise.

Camping is pretty cheap.

It would need to be actually paying me at least 4 figures for me to consider it.

I think house swaps could work?

Part of me suspects they want to trap us all here so we have to spend money here and it will slightly cushion the impact of brexit and the pandemic on the economy.

Like everything in this pandemic (and more generally), the shit hits the fan for the poorest first.

Even the rules around travelling abroad prioritise the rich, allowing people to travel to second homes. DP's family live in another European country. We used to spend around £30 each on coaches to visit them. No accommodation costs or anything while we were there as we stayed with relatives. This year that would be illegal, but if we could afford to buy a house there it would all be legal.

Camping is pretty cheap.
It's not if you need to buy all the shizzle and have nowhere to store it afterwards

We were lucky to be able to book a holiday for this year (bank of mum and dad) but it is well over £1k for a week in a cottage. Then throw in usual or more expensive food, travel and a couple of icecreams, well out of reach of many.

Then camp! I find it sucks if the weather is bad. It's also not cheap for the initial outlay.
