My DH didn't get a card when he was vaccinated

Apparently you're supposed to receive a card to prove you've had the Covid jab, but no one told my DH and he wasn't given one. He said he didn't see anyone else being given one either.

Has this happened to anyone you know?

Did he get a leaflet telling him about the vaccine and its side effects? They are supposed to give those to everyone.

FlamedToACrisp · 28/02/2021 00:14

Yes, he was handed the leaflet and then immediately called for the jab before he had a chance to read it. He looked at it when he got home. But it doesn't have his name on, or say he;s been vaccinated, it's just a printed leaflet.

The card gives details about which vaccine and which batch number and there's a space for the 2nd dose details too. I found when I went into my GP online account I could see those details had been added to my record. Does he have access to his GP records online? If so, he might be able to see there.

Choconuttolata · 28/02/2021 00:17

No my card was stapled to the leaflet with the batch number and date of first dose written on it. My dad and DH were also given a card. It will get recorded on his NHS record so he could apply for proof of vaccination via a subject access request from his GP.

JennyWreny · 28/02/2021 00:20

My card doesn't have my name on it. Although I now see that there is a space at the top for that to be filled in. You mentioned in your OP about it proving he's had the vaccine. Is he worried that he doesn't have any proof? I'm pretty sure these cards are meant to be like appointment cards with the batch info. Not for proof of being vaccinated.

Didkdt · 28/02/2021 00:22

The card gives the vaccine and batch number. I wouldn’t worry unless he might be allergic to the Pfizer in which case I’m not sure I’d worry if he wasn’t

sleepwouldbenice · 28/02/2021 00:34

I volunteer at a clinic. Lots of people leave theirs in error. It’s not ideal but it’s all recorded on the system as well so there was no concern regarding giving them back

DenisetheMenace · 28/02/2021 00:35

My parents were given one 🤷‍♀️

TrashPanda · 28/02/2021 00:37

Our local big centre didn't have cards for a day as they had run out. The details will be on his medical records too.

unmumsymummy21 · 28/02/2021 00:37

I wasn't given a leaflet, but I did get a card. Weird!

PiratePetespajamas · 28/02/2021 00:42

I wasn’t given a card, nor was anyone I know who has gone where I went.

HeddaGarbled · 28/02/2021 00:49

The card isn’t to prove you’ve had the vaccination. It’s just a record. My mum’s is hand-written with her name, the date and vaccine batch number. My husband’s is stamped with the date and batch number but his name isn’t on it. This is useful information but couldn’t be used as official proof of vaccination as they would be so easy to fake.

Don’t confuse these with vaccination passports/certificates. These would be the ‘proof’ for travel or venues, if the government decides to go down that route.

Weirdnessabounds · 28/02/2021 00:49

No card or leaflet given to me or any of my work colleagues (work related jab). Leaflet but no card given to my mum (age related jab) and no one else that I could see in a big hub was given a card when I went with my mum, this was in Scotland.

jimmyhill · 28/02/2021 00:52

The card is just a memo, it's not supposed to be proof of vaccination

bennyjet · 28/02/2021 01:00

Mine recorded on my online drs notes you can view them via the nhs app

RedcurrantPuff · 28/02/2021 01:08

I didn’t get a card, but I got the vaccine insert leaflet. AZ.

tararabumdeay · 28/02/2021 01:16

Did he get a lollypop and a brave boy sticker?

howsicklyarsekissy · 28/02/2021 02:04

My gos surgery is giving the card out with the second dose only. I had mine done at a mass vax centre & was given a card (with the dates & batch number & type of Vax on) on my first dose & told to bring it back with me for my second vax

cabbageking · 28/02/2021 02:12

Given a leaflet and card with the date, name of vaccine plus batch number and my name with space for second vaccine info. It's issued by the NHS and says on it to keep in your purse or wallet. Everyone I know has one.

Boph · 28/02/2021 09:40

They don't give the cards out everywhere.
When DH and I had ours we were given a card stapled to a leaflet but the card didn't have our name on. They are not proof in the sense of a vaccine passport.
My vaccine shows up on my online health records accessed through systmonline.

RedcurrantPuff · 28/02/2021 09:41

I had no sticker or chocolate button either for being such a brave girl :(

EvilOnion · 28/02/2021 09:43

I got the Pfizer jab in January and didn't get a card, none of my colleagues did either.

EnFlique · 28/02/2021 09:58

I did actually get a sticker Grin

Ragwort · 28/02/2021 10:02

I got a sticker too Grin ...

thecatfromjapan · 28/02/2021 10:20

Just to say:

I'd suggest wearing your stickers. It's to encourage people to get the vaccine.
If people see you out and about, wearing your sticker, it shows how many people are getting vaccinated - a kind of 'herd encouragement'.

Also, it demonstrates we're not time-travelling because of the nanotechnology, or whatever.
