Wtf do I say to him? Anyone seen any decent articles online?
Friend is also clinically vulnerable and saying he won't get it. He also isn't the only person I know who thinks this either.Confused

Paul Hunter from UEA says the vast majority of deaths next winter will be among the unvaccinated.
Covid will find the unvaccinated and out their lives at risk.
Why would anyone do that to themselves?
Your friends are wrong but many people like them will learn the hard way

stilllovingmysleep · 07/02/2021 08:05

@GlacindaTheTroll the problem is rational arguments don't work with these kind of conspiracy theories

GlacindaTheTroll · 07/02/2021 08:10

Oh, I know it won't persuade, but it's fun to watch them try to wriggle around the battery issue!

EvilPea · 07/02/2021 08:10

I wish they could make trackers (and power them) that small
I’d get the cat vaccinated to see where he is at 12am when I want to go to bed

draughtycatflap · 07/02/2021 08:14

When he starts tell him he’s already been replaced by a cyborg anyway as you can hear him whirring. Then snatch back his jammy dodger and scream “ROBOTS DON’T SNACK!”

Divebar2021 · 07/02/2021 08:15

I want to know which government department are going to be monitoring 60million tracking devices? To what purpose? So they will know that there are millions of visits to the supermarket, to the tip, to the park but to what end ?

VinterKvinna · 07/02/2021 08:19

@PumpkinsMum18

If he has smart phone or uses any kind of social media then he is already being tracked.... we all are!
This

And ask him if thinks out government has the intelligence to arrange something like this.

Why would the gvnt want to track us???

Lofari · 07/02/2021 08:25

Its true. Thats why they started with injecting the elderly. Clearly once we reach a certain age we turn into aliens and need to be monitored at all times incase our home planet calls us back

CaptainSirTomMooreismyhero · 07/02/2021 08:30

What will microchipping everyone achieve?

I wouldn't bother saying anything to my friend about it. Do you always try to counter beliefs held by all the people you know? How controlling of you. Just let them lead their lives and you lead yours.

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 07/02/2021 08:46

I couldn’t be friends with someone so stupid

VettiyaIruken · 07/02/2021 09:31

Don't bother. If someone is in such a state mentally that they genuinely believe the governments of the world have invented a virus as an excuse to put some sort of nanotech tracking and control devices into the populations then nothing you can show them will get through. It's a waste of your time.

Drivingbuttercup · 07/02/2021 09:32

We are all microchipped already, its called a mobile phone.

morninglive · 07/02/2021 10:08

He's been watching Westworld, and is one of the few people who actually understand the plot

Frogartist · 07/02/2021 10:10

It's not the same, is it?
midnightstar66 · 07/02/2021 10:24

I've a friend who goes a step further and thinks it's a tracker - like how could they fit a lifetime battery in to something smaller than a grain of rice? My iPhone battery is huge and I'm lucky if it sees me through the day. It is worrying but I doubt you'll change his mind sadly.

lightand · 07/02/2021 12:16

How is a mobile phone the same as being microchipped?

lightand · 07/02/2021 12:19

What will microchipping everyone achieve

Communism and total control of your life?

onesixseven · 07/02/2021 12:38

Putting tracking devices in people will lead to the abolition on private property?

Seems like a leap, but conspiracy theorists aren't exactly known for their logic.

tormentil · 07/02/2021 12:39

I think that it is called transhumanism. It might all seem daft, stupid and 'out there' at the moment - but the technology isn't that far away.

Rather than mock individuals, maybe ask why this debate is everywhere at the moment? I would look for more understanding in the context of 'know your enemy'.

Dodododahdahdah · 07/02/2021 12:39

Does he have any other opinions that are not the same as yours? Any other little quirks, phobias or things that he does differently to you? I’d imagine so and I’d imagine you accept that as part of his personality.
Have you cared enough about any of them to turn to an Internet forum under the disguise of wanting to help him?

Hibernatingnation · 07/02/2021 12:40

Maybe show him this?

Friend thinks the vaccination is government's way of micro chipping us sll
Dodododahdahdah · 07/02/2021 12:40

The truth is, you’ve come here to seek validation that you are completely right over a situation you are very scared over. Don’t dress it up as wanting to help your friend.

Becuase I'm worried about him He has had two heart attacks, is quite elderly, has long issues and is saying he won't have the vaccination.

Thank you all. I have read up a lot on this but my mind had drawn a blank on what to say!

I am scared of him becoming ill, yes. I just wanted to know what might be the best thing to say.

No. Because none of them endanger his health.
