What time of day did you get your vaccine?

My dad has a theory that earlier times = Pfizer vaccine, later times = Oxford. So you should book early/late according to which vaccine you prefer. This is due to the Pfizer jab having a short shelf life so they use that up first. It make sense, just wanted to see if there’s any truth in it!

I had pfizer at a hospital because they had the cold storage facility. Hospital was vaccinating with pfizer all day operating on a 24h basis.

Spidey66 · 05/02/2021 20:27

I had mine in the afternoon and had the AstraZenica. But I think the NHS Trust (my employers who arranged it) gave the same to all of us afaik

Rillington · 05/02/2021 20:27

6.30pm Oxford. I don't know if they were just doing Oxford or a mixture.

Kitkat151 · 05/02/2021 20:28

Pfizer. 8pm. NW

Skipsurvey · 05/02/2021 20:29

pzifer, 5.30, hospital

wlv12 · 05/02/2021 20:29

Pfizer, 2pm.

lunar1 · 05/02/2021 20:30

We only have Pfizer at my hub.

Skipsurvey · 05/02/2021 20:30

i think your dad is wrong

AubergineIsMyFavourite · 05/02/2021 20:32

It has nothing to do with time of day. Where I live different vaccination centres are using different vaccines. They have said they may change vaccine depending on supplies so as not to guarantee one vaccine or another but definitely nothing to do with time of day. More to do with storage facilities.

IaltagDhubh · 05/02/2021 20:39

8.30am. Oxford. Don’t think the time of day had anything to do with it.

AdriannaP · 05/02/2021 20:41

Nothing to do with time but it’s about storage facilities. Hospitals are more likely to have Pfizer.

MajesticWhine · 05/02/2021 20:45

No this isn't how it works.

Milliways · 05/02/2021 21:01

Once the Pfizer is out the fridge it has to be used within 2 hours. It also only lasts 3 days in the fridge so we do long days to use it all up.

The AstraZenica lasts 6 hours out the fridge so is more flexible, and we can run half day, morning or afternoon clinics.

Patients are offered an appointment and turn it down as want the other brand, don’t understand that we have no control over what is sent so may have a long wait!

480Widdio · 05/02/2021 22:43

I had the AZ one late evening.

Didkdt · 05/02/2021 22:52

My in-laws both had AZ first thing
My parents both had Pfizer different times of day but same venue
I think it just depends on the hub to be honest

Frozenintime · 05/02/2021 22:55

Mum had hers at 9.30 am yesterday. Oxford vaccine. So no, not true

Mumisnotmyonlyname · 05/02/2021 22:56

11am AZ

Nonamesavail · 05/02/2021 22:56

1pm pfizer

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 05/02/2021 22:59

Parents 6pm Pfizer
Me 4pm AZ

PrincessNutNuts · 05/02/2021 23:03

When I took Auntie it had been decided in advance who got what. She got AZ and the woman next to her got PB.

AuntyClementine · 05/02/2021 23:13

I heard that if you have Pfizer at midnight you turn into a vampire but if you have AZ at midnight you turn into a werewolf.

Whodofthunk · 05/02/2021 23:30

I had pfizer at 4pm (hospital), my father had pfizer the next day at 9am (hub)

SymphonyofShadows · 05/02/2021 23:36

I had Pfizer at 2.30pm in an old nightclub. FIL had AZ at 9am in a building previously used by the County Council. DM had AZ at 11am in the local hospital. It’s totally about storage and supply.

HalfDutchGirl · 05/02/2021 23:41

Our vaccine hub is only using AZ so the times are irrelevant.

OnlyBejoking · 05/02/2021 23:44

They only have Pfizer at our hospital so that's what you get, whenever you go
