No. No crystal ball.

NaughtipussMaximus · 04/02/2021 19:00

I’d assume it’ll probably be the same as last time - Reception, YR1 and YR6. But who knows?

Useruseruserusee · 04/02/2021 19:01

No, but I would put money on reception

welshweasel · 04/02/2021 19:04

Wales are going to send back R, Y1 and Y2 back first.

Lockdownbear · 04/02/2021 19:08

Scotland are planning on Primary 1-3 and kids doing practical subjects in secondary.

Lockdownbear · 04/02/2021 19:09

I should say exams in practical subjects.

HercwasanEnemyofEducation · 04/02/2021 19:10

It should be youngest first.

Fortherosesjoni70 · 04/02/2021 19:15

Yes, here in Scotland they are shoving all the nursery children and primary 1-3 back on the 22nd Feb. All in classes together. No SD only the protection of community infection being low to protect them and staff. They youngest are being treated like guinea pigs as the Scottish Government wait and see the outcome before sending the others in.

Lockdownbear · 04/02/2021 20:07

England never actually closed their nurseries and seem to a have a lower criteria for keyworkers to get kids into school.

year5teacher · 04/02/2021 21:08

Hopefully year 5.
No, I’m not biased at all...

dingoesatemybaby · 04/02/2021 21:10

Year 1&2 hopefully

For... reasons Grin

Letseatgrandma · 04/02/2021 21:11

Hopefully a year in each key stage so that social distancing is possible, rather than sending the whole of the infants back and having juniors classrooms standing empty.

Cattitudes · 04/02/2021 21:16

I wouldn't be surprised if they just chuck them all back in, numbers here are back to where they were beginning of December when schools were 'perfectly safe'.

I personally think alternative weeks might be more sensible but who wants to be sensible!

Anonanon12 · 04/02/2021 21:16

I can bet it won't be year 4,5 or 8 😩😩😩😩

SpencerGregson · 04/02/2021 21:27

I would really like to know what the objection is to rotas. Surely it's better for as many children as possible to have some school than some to have FT and others none.

It was a nightmare last year and only my preschooler returned - it it's the same priority years this time, two will be able to return (although I suspect one will be ruled out by KW children in school) but two won't- and they're the two who are really really struggling.

I do wish they'd just tell us a plan.
Although that would suggest they have one.

SpringSunshineandTulips · 04/02/2021 21:37

It won’t be year 4 ( which is what I need) 🤣. Poss yr 7 which will be good but will really upset my year 4.

Remmy123 · 04/02/2021 21:51

They are all a priority!! Enough is enough they need school

IncidentsandAccidents · 04/02/2021 21:58

I think England will follow Scotland and Wales and bring KS1 children back first - full time and full classes. I do worry that KS2 children could be home for several more weeks. (I have a reception child happy at home and a y3 really missing friends and school 🙈).

3littlewords · 04/02/2021 22:32

If the children within in each year dont mix with others whats the point in only having some years back not all years? If they were having some priority years and spreading them out across the whole school in smaller classes I could understand but to have 1 half of school with full classes and 1 half school empty classes when they technically should never mix anyway seems confusing

Atrixie · 04/02/2021 22:34

Please please please year 6

Barbie222 · 04/02/2021 22:38

I think cherry picked year groups in primary last time went down very badly all round and I doubt they'll do that again. All of primary should have a fair chance with rotas for attendance if infection rates are high.

Shelovesamystery · 04/02/2021 22:45

@Remmy123

They are all a priority!! Enough is enough they need school
This ^

And mine is year 1 so likely to be going back regardless. I think bringing back certain year groups first is wrong, if they are going to do full classes anyway then it should be all in.

BogRollBOGOF · 04/02/2021 22:46

I hope all of primary. It's lower risk anyway and rates fell down through November despite schools continuing.

If it was cheery picked year groups, my y3 and y5 would be ignored for the second year in a row based on assessment/ transition priorities.

CrackOpenTheGin · 04/02/2021 23:06

I’m hoping it’s not years 4 and 2before Easter.I am so close to a vaccine (group 6) that it just seems a stupid risk to take for the sake of a few weeks

MarcelineMissouri · 04/02/2021 23:15

Based on nothing but a guess I think that all primary schools children will go back and middle/upper school may be staggered or rota’d. I work in a primary school and (again based on nothing but opinion) we are expecting all children back at the same time. We currently have approx 50% of children in anyway.
