I've only namechanged as I've posted about it on fb and don't want these linked. Ask mn how long I've been here if you think I'm making it up.

I have a metric fuck tonne of comorbidities, I'm CEV, and had my vaccine this week (AZ, clues in the name 😂)

Since, I have had neurological symptoms in my arm. Pins and needles, neuralgia, numbness in my fingers and hand. No other side effects. I have yellow-carded and spoken to my GP (advised to keep an eye on it and call the emergency number if anything increases and makes me concerned), but I just want a support thread while I wait for this to go away :( my concern is that I don't want to scare people into not having it, so I've been wary of mentioning it. But then on the other hand, I'm paranoid that I'm just being a hypochondriac and there is nothing abnormal anyway. Anyone who has had long term health problems and had them minimised like I have will hopefully understand this.

So, I know that if I'm having a dodgy response (AZ say neurological symptoms have existed in trials, but are believed to be unlinked to the vaccine itself), it's probably as I'm the only person in the UK with my exact combination of health problems and medications, and at my age/sex etc. That doesn't mean it's a problem for anyone else, but doesn't exactly placate me either. Iyswim.

Could I have a handhold? 😢

@sskanky

You sound like hard work
People with disabilities and chronic illnesses frequently are. Because they are disabled and chronically ill.

What’s your point?

BeyondAZParanoia · 05/02/2021 09:07

Thanks sock ❤️

Not had the vaccine, or your health problems, but I understand your anxiety. It's a brand new vaccine, you are right to monitor it closely. Hope it resolves for you Flowers

NoseinBook3 · 05/02/2021 09:48

I’m sorry you’re experiencing this @BeyondAZParanoia

I hope it settles for you soon Flowers

Bornlazy · 05/02/2021 09:56

Hi OP I saw your thread when you first posted and wondered how you were getting on.

I had the Pfizer vaccine and didn't feel great for about three weeks after it. It was very frustrating as everything I read online said that people can feel bad for 24-48 hours but nothing about any longer. In my head I reassured myself by thinking that it takes three weeks for your body to build immunity so for whatever reason my body was responding badly to it it continued to do so for that time.

It concerns me how dismissive people are when anyone talks about side effects. I understand that we don't want to frighten people and put them off but we also shouldn't have people too afraid to mention side effects for fear of being called dramatic or an anti- vaxxer. For what its worth I have booked my second jag so it's not put me off.

I hope your symptoms settle soon

Thanks all Flowers

I've called the doctor again this morning, just have to wait for a call back. DW is ill so I really hope they dont want to see me - as I need her to take me :( she's happy to, but I feel awful that she can't focus on herself when she's ill

I hope you are ok.
I am following with interest as I have a very complex mix of autoimmune and auto inflammatory conditions and I am due to have the AZ vaccine in the next few weeks.

I am very much pro vaccines in general but I am nervous about this one due to theoretical interactions it could have with my rare conditions.

I have been considering waiting and seeing if I can get the Novavax vaccine instead. But that could mean months more of shielding and might not ever be available to me.

I’m at the hospital. GP is concerned there is a chance that it is indeed transverse myelitis 😱

I’m sorry to hear that Sad

Sorry to be dense, but does that mean your spinal cord is inflamed, or can it refer to inflammation of another group of nerves?

I hope you are getting good care. How is your DW feeling, I remember you said she was ill too?

@TheSockMonster I think PickAChew was referring to FfsDofE's post saying it read like a wind up thread.

OP I hope you get some answers soon.

Ah, yes, that makes more sense Blush

Sorry @PickAChew

PickAChew · 05/02/2021 23:27

No problem @thesockmonster. I was lazy about quoting, there.

Hope you're getting the help you need, OP.

Sorry not sure if im misreading but what in that photo youve posted is meant to be something? From what i see its a statement of what you've said here and then some tests that have come back fine?

Hope they get to the bottom of whatever this is.

trulydelicious · 05/02/2021 23:44

I hope you get help and can recover OP

MajesticWhine · 06/02/2021 00:03

It seems a bit odd to me that you posted your medical records here OP. I hope you feel better soon.

The tests are dated 2020 and January 2021.

Does that mean they haven’t done any tests yet OP? You’ve just posted a list of your own statement, what have they done though?

RosesAndLemonade · 06/02/2021 05:32

@BeyondAZParanoia

As I said, I've had my ulnar nerve impinged in my right arm before, I know what it feels like. This came on following the vaccine, and if you RTFT you’ll see isn’t now confined to the one arm anyway. Also read what AZ have to say on the subject. If I had a headache you wouldn’t be arguing that I’d slept awkward 🙄
I'm reading this whole thing in absolute disbelief. How is telling someone to "read the fucking thread" not rude OP!? Goodness me this is horrible. Sorry you have side effects, I'm sure they'll go. I can't have any of the vaccines due to severe allergies (no matter what anyone on MN likes to tell me that they think I can have it, I definitely can't) and have more chronic conditions that I can count, but this is just crazy. You can't tell someone to RTFT when people are listening to post after post after post about every tiny symptom you have and then trying to reply to you!

Goodness me how rude.

RosesAndLemonade · 06/02/2021 05:33

And I'm not belittling your symptoms. I don't know you or what it's like, but the fact is you're breaking down every symptom into it's tiniest parts, in all the details , wanting support, accepting the support and then telling someone to read what you're fucking writing. Goodness me !

Bornlazy · 06/02/2021 05:39

RosesAndLemonade RTFT generally means read the FULL thread, although I admit I thought the same as you when I first came across it on MN.

Fair enough I've only ever known it as "fucking" but to be honest, swearing or not , I think that still comes across as needlessly aggressive if I'm honest, especially when everyone reading has been trying to help OP

How did you get on at the hospital?
