6 week American road trip over the summer.

Fuck.

NeverForgetYourDreams · 26/01/2021 17:55

Abroad at Easter. Can't cancel as waiting for your operator to cancel else lose best part of £5k. Postponed holiday from 2020 :-(

NeverForgetYourDreams · 26/01/2021 17:56

PuzzledObserver · 26/01/2021 17:58

I'm hoping that a folk festival I should have attended last year will go ahead in mid-July, as ticket rolled over and I don't know if they will refund us now if it's cancelled.

It's on our doorstep, and we are due to move away from here a week later. Then attend my nephew's wedding (postponed from last year) in mid-August, having driven 350 miles, picking up my mother on the way.

If these events are on, we'll be going. Cos we've had Covid and survived, and in any case we'll be vaccinated by then, so I ain't afraid any more. But will still follow whatever rules are in place at the time.

Holiday in May Wink not happening

StressedTired · 26/01/2021 18:01

@WhatKatyDidNxt Good luck to you 🙏🏻 I'd happily do all of the quarantine time, just need the travel corridors to actually open up again and I'll be straight off.

BlowDryRat · 26/01/2021 18:14

Holidays overseas in June, July and November.

A football tournament at Butlins in April.

ferretface · 26/01/2021 18:20

Don't actually need to cancel any of these but just waiting for them to be cancelled on me:

Two rescheduled gigs in May
Four rescheduled festivals May through to August
The London Marathon in October

Hoppinggreen · 26/01/2021 18:21

International conference in May

fatisnotafeeling · 26/01/2021 19:11

Newyork the end of Nov, I am trying to be optimistic about it but I worry that it won't happen now.

I had hoped that I could have people over in the garden for my 40th next week but that's not going to happen and now praying that we can have a big party for DS4 first bday in April.

My baby shower was cancelled, and no one could meet him when he was born and then His first Xmas was rather rubbish. I really really want his birthday to be special.

alltheadrenalin · 26/01/2021 19:16

Lakes in April

DrMadelineMaxwell · 26/01/2021 19:25

I want to do a family day in Easter hols to replace Christmas.

Have a long weekend abroad in April that we are expecting to have cancelled. If they don't cancel it we're losing that money as cannot afford to quarantine on return. Would hope they do as Hancock specifically reminded people it's currently illegal to travel unless for a few specific reasons.

Chailatteplease · 26/01/2021 19:27

Probably my wedding in May 😔 already postponed from last year, can’t face making the decision to do it again.

Hummdeedumm · 26/01/2021 19:36

Two uk holidays moved from last year, march and june.
I understand the march one is probably not going to be able to go ahead but I can’t see why the June one would be cancelled. Holidays were allowed last summer and we didn’t have a vaccine then

Unanananana · 26/01/2021 19:37

Holiday in Scotland. Its already been moved from July 2020 to August 2021. Its an Air BnB so I've got no choice but to wait and see. I'd like a full refund if travel restrictions are still in place (we will be driving from Kent so it will be technically an uncessary journey too) as that amount of money will improve our summer if we have to stay local.

rookiemere · 26/01/2021 19:41

@Unanananana I don't think that's too unrealistic. I'm hopeful that at least travel within the UK will be possible by summer. After all it was last year and there was no vaccine then.

BeakyWinder · 26/01/2021 19:43

Uk cottage holiday in March, wedding abroad in May, Gig 1st week of June, my graduation (well, already cancelled last year but can't see it this year either)

bloodywhitecat · 26/01/2021 19:47

Getting married in the early summer if DP makes it that far.

Pugliandreamer · 26/01/2021 19:48

3 week driving trip around Italy, start of June. Moved from 2020...
I know we will have to cancel but I'm just holding on...

smoothchange · 26/01/2021 19:56

Those with things booked in the UK in Summer - can I ask why you think they won’t go ahead?

Because events are already cancelling!

RaggieDolls · 26/01/2021 20:11

Some of these are just so sad. I'm so sorry for you all.

Supposed to be going away with my sister at easter. It's a rebook from last year. We live at opposite ends of the country and haven't seen each other since December 19 now.

CMOTDibbler · 26/01/2021 20:13

Sports holiday in Lanzarote at Easter. Booked it last year after my dad died to have something to look forward to, but it doesn't look like the resort will even be open.

WhiteChocTwix · 26/01/2021 20:20

Greece in June. We isolated for our trip last year, never got sick, isolated, like mature adults we just stayed home, no need of quarantine hotel... Hmm

ProfessorPootle · 26/01/2021 20:38

Not me, virgin holidays!

I have Orlando booked with virgin for the 31st March, they’re still saying it’s going ahead as planned, won’t refund me as our holiday is not affected by the global pandemic or the US closing their borders!! 😳

ProfessorPootle · 26/01/2021 20:39

Also ds has his Y6 trip in may, reached from September and younger ds has school trip July. I really hope they’ll go ahead
