Interested in what everyone's doing in these tough times.

We have weighted blankets and relaxing oils (lavender). I try to knit and colour too- I used to think all this was a bit 'woo' but now understand the biology behind stress a bit more.

Luxurious baths
Uplifting fiction
Small decluttering jobs
Board game sessions with family
Drawing
Planning vegetable seeds to plant - might even try some flowers this year for a bit of colour
Jigsaws

Just generally accepting this is life right now so get all the homebody stuff out of my system ready for a summer of crowded events!

frozendaisy · 23/01/2021 14:40

Wish I could knit

Running. Then more running.

Lovemusic33 · 23/01/2021 15:38

Eating too much 😬

I’m struggling this time, last time I exercised a lot more and ate a lot less but I enjoy cooking and when I’m bored I tend to cook or bake.

Things I did in first lockdown which I’m now bored of....

Walking
Puzzles
Gardening (can’t really do that for a month or 2)
Felting
Loom knitting

This time I just feel bored and fed up, mainly due to the time of year and not being able to get outside as much. I don’t feel I can cope being stuck in until April 😟

Zooforhouse · 23/01/2021 15:40

All the craft. Or more planning and purchasing for craft, I have 2 kids under 3 😂

@frozendaisy I read yours really quickly and thought it said 'kill' 😂

ILookAtTheFloor · 23/01/2021 16:05

@frozendaisy, I use a tablet to watch Netflix/ Britbox/iplayer etc, we have a small cabinet in the bathroom that I move to the side of the bath and put it on there 😁

It's changed my life!

Hard on the water bill though haha.

TastyTicklemore · 23/01/2021 16:15

Honestly? I took a sustained period away from mn (I just came back on in recent days).

I found the manic screaming back and forth pro and aginst lockdowns and their impacts, to be very hard to read. Horrible patronising accusations flung in both directions.

Things have taken a nasty tun on here in recent months and I just couldn't cope with it. A break from it all helped me renormalise my mind.

readingismycardio · 23/01/2021 16:20

Not in the UK, but still lockdown

Bubble baths with products such as rituals/molton brown
Face masks
Exercise (I recently got back into it, it makes my brain so happy!) I even do zumba sometimes, so much fun!
Reading
Oil diffuser & candles. For the oil diffuser we use uplifting scents (lime, lemongrass, lemon, wild orange, grapefruit)

This completely!

SausageCrush · 23/01/2021 16:32

Trying to keep the weekends different to weekdays so the days don't blur.
This is mostly done with food and drink Blush
For example I only have wine and chocolate and toast with marmite at the weekend. Also light candles & watch films, so it still feels as though I have something to look forward to on Fridays.

KOKOagainandagain · 23/01/2021 17:12

Headspace - try to meditate 40 mins a day every day

Enjoy the time I spend with my sons - we all need the release

Dog walks - live rurally so nature and wildlife

Garden - cycle of life stuff

Watch John Campbell, drbeen, peak prosperity but avoid mainstream media - build personal resilience

Watch Walking Dead - could be worse

Watch comedy - rewatching King of the Hill atm - sha sha shaw!

Listen to comedy - love Cabin Pressure

Read - just read the Slough House/Slow Horses series and looking forward to the Apple TV series with Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb

Cook tasty and healthy meals and take supplements - prepare my terrain

Indulgent chocolate and wine - why not?

Posturesorposes · 23/01/2021 17:16

Not thinking too hard/engaging too deeply with things. Fundamentally it is that.

I could - if I wished to - engage with how my baby is 1 and has not yet met my parents half the world away - or the death rate - or the relentlessness. But I have ended up dulling my mind to it all a bit and focusing instead of getting by and making the getting by bearable and fun by mainly it seems -

  1. Cooking dinner after both littles have gone to bed and making sure the meal is exotic and from a different cuisine daily
  1. Daily luxurious shower with fancy products
  1. Little projects on the house last one was pantry
  1. Small body goals weight etc
  1. NOT engaging mind too deeply with deep matters.
BorisandHarriet · 23/01/2021 17:19

Fresh air and exercise.

inquietant · 23/01/2021 17:21

I'm good at relaxing at home, but used to go out to do more exciting/cheering things, so I'm trying to do more things like listening to happy music, watching plays online, zooming friends for a laugh.

I always did a lot of craft/games/meditation but I have introduced more aerobic exercise to make up for being stuck in a lot.

inquietant · 23/01/2021 17:22

Watch Walking Dead - could be worse

Ignoring any fucker telling me to go for a walk or write in a fecking journal

I like Devi Sridhar but if I see one more #getoutside tweet from her I might scream. I'm so sick of the sight of our local park that if I never see it again it will still be a thousand years too soon.
