Can you take daily exercise further afield if there are quite serious mental health issues?

In the middle lock down they said you could.

Night walking! 😂 We might have to start doing that. If tide times allow we could night walk on the beach. The coast path would be too dangerous I think. And those are our options from our front door. We are very lucky. But in the day it’s way too public for my daughter as it’s an ‘everyone knows everyone’ type of a place and the beach is full every day of locals dog walking. All day.

Face mask / hat not an option for my daughter since hospital trauma from poor treatment during multiple MRIs and EEGs while she was very unwell in 2020.

"It's tricky. My very small village has so many cars here today that they are now parking in the bloody passing spaces - causing havoc on the narrow lane."

People driving for mental health reasons are generally not those clogging up small villages.

I don't think you can guarantee anything regarding the police because the ones handing out fines are not following the law, but making judgement calls.

In your situation I'd do it, your DD's mental health will definitely suffer if you don't, therefore the slim chance you'll be stopped would be worth the risk to me.

I would vary where we went (unless she prefers consistency?!) but I'd try to avoid going to popular beauty spots. Especially at the weekend.

I'm so sorry fir you both x

How on earth is a 10-15 minute drive not your local area? Why do you think this isn't allowed? There isn't any rules on how far you can go, there is just guidance to stay in your local area. That doesn't mean round the block.
Because the Derbyshire police fined two women doing that & it has frightened a lot of people.

@Shehasadiamondinthesky

I have a serious mental health condition for which I must take antipsychotic medication everyday of my life. I dont find it necessary to drive for miles. Mental health conditions are not a get out of jail free card. If you are not coping contact your GP.
You'd think someone who claims to have a mental health condition would understand that not everyone is the same.

This is a CHILD who needs a walk each day & can't face walking locally where she's known.

Try a little empathy
