If you did mix over Christmas

Is there anyone now unwell as a result? The number of cases today is daunting and deaths are over 1000, the timeline would correspond with it being the Christmas period it would have been caught. I was thinking about this and wondering if anyone is aware that someone they saw over christmas is now unwell as a result?

By the way, I myself only went out of the house over those 2 weeks for food shopping. Saw no-one else outisde of this house on Christmas Day even though we could. To think I went back to work today mixing with kids and staff who have admitted mixing does make my heart sink that we will never as a country beat this through resilience and common sense.

Happychristmashohoho · 06/01/2021 18:56

@Affor

I was looking mainly at the cases rather than the deaths, The deaths would likely rise in another 2/3 weeks as a result of christmas mixing if that is the case.

Hasn't it been too long for cases? Most people get symptoms on day 5 so should be tested by days 5-10 which has passed.

Aren’t the statistics 5 days behind though, so it should be about now that it shows up?
@Sertchgi123 people have different circumstances. My dad won't be here next Christmas, maybe even by summer. There was no way I was missing a last family Christmas or making him waste his last months alive.
Yes okay, play that card.

CarriesFlower82 · 06/01/2021 18:58

@Sertchgi123 "play that card"? My dad had end stage liver disease and is dying. Go fuck yourself,

Fembot123 · 06/01/2021 18:59

No mixing but back working in a school with kids I’ve seen out in groups and god knows what else they’ve been doing.

Oblomov20 · 06/01/2021 19:00

We didn't mix.

I know 2 people should did: My friend did, met her daughters. My boss did, his mum who is dying came as did his kids to say goodbye to her.

No one is ill.

Yep, clearly my comment wasn't aimed at you personally but don't let that stop you claiming the high moral ground.

IndecentFeminist · 06/01/2021 19:00

That's a hideous thing to say @sertchgi123, I'd be ashamed

Fembot123 · 06/01/2021 19:00

That isn’t a ‘card’ surely??? 99% of people would do exactly the same, @Sertchgi123 you must have had an empathy bypass.

Fembot123 · 06/01/2021 19:01

Oh bullshit it wasn’t 😂😂😂

IndecentFeminist · 06/01/2021 19:01

If it wasn't aimed at that poster, you'd have apologised and acknowledged. Not used the awful phrase 'play that card'. And then to double down on it.

CarriesFlower82 · 06/01/2021 19:04

@Sertchgi123 moral high ground?! How I am claiming a moral high ground?! My circumstances are such that my much loved father is dying already! He has spent the best part of a year locked away with my mum and unable to see his family or grandchildren. We took all necessary precautions so we could enjoy one last special occasion together.

I get the covid is serious. I have followed most rules. But people have different circumstances and sometimes life cannot wait.

Your blood is only boiling because you are an insensitive and nasty bitch.

maddiemookins16mum · 06/01/2021 19:06

We never. Woman at work did, WHOLE family ravaged by it and one now dead.

IndecentFeminist · 06/01/2021 19:06

PoppiesinOctober · 06/01/2021 19:07

@Sertchgi123

What a heartless bastard you are

AdditionalCharacter · 06/01/2021 19:07

@Sertchgi123 if your comment wasn't aimed at @CarriesFlower82 why did you quote her? Weird way to deny something.

TheAdventuresoftheWishingChair · 06/01/2021 19:07

Carries very glad you saw him. Quite right too. Some people have lost their empathy!

I saw a sibling and his children for Christmas. Just for a few hours so within the rules. We stayed apart in his pretty big kitchen and kept the door open all day (we froze!). I have still been a little nervous since and watching out for symptoms. But no one has got ill, thankfully.

DenisetheMenace · 06/01/2021 19:07

Would people post it on here, if they did?

Sertchgi123 · 06/01/2021 19:08

My blood is boiling at people who mixed at Christmas. I didn't see any of my family, at all.

I am utterly sick of Covid and the poverty some of my family are living in, due to being excluded by the Chancellor.

Clearly my comment wasn't aimed at the poster who has taken offence. I don't know that poster or any of her back story. I'm not apologising for someone taking offence, where none was intended.

perfectly justified and I say that as the most ridiculously careful person.

You literally quoted her. Are you you stupid?
Sertchgi123 · 06/01/2021 19:10

My original comment wasn't aimed at her but don't let that stop people enjoying a witch hunt.

CarriesFlower82 · 06/01/2021 19:10

Everyone can search my previous posts and see a thread where I agonised over whether I should break the rules and see him for Christmas! I am not a bad person and I am not someone who "plays cards" and breaks rules to suit me. I hate that this situation has turned people into such blinkered, self righteous a-holes that they can't see that other people and families have problems and pain and suffering beyond Covid.

Fembot123 · 06/01/2021 19:11

We were tier 4 before it became mainstream dontcha know so is wasn’t allowed anyway but I’m thankful as we were originally going to my in-laws and DHs boss tested positive and told him on Boxing Day
