On my walk yesterday I saw a group of 10 with little social distancing

OP posts:
Lolly34h · 02/01/2021 21:15

Today my neighbour had her ex and grandkids and adult children in her house. They have such an entitled attitude it's unreal.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 02/01/2021 21:15

Today, neighbours across the road had visitors indoors again. Not part of a support bubble either.

CarryOnFestiveNamechanging · 02/01/2021 21:25

Boxing Day.

Several neighbours had visitors (non-bubbled) stay over after Christmas Day. One neighbouring family had at least 5 other families round for the day on Christmas Day itself.

vodkaredbullgirl · 02/01/2021 21:29

No one, too busy either at work or sleeping.

MawkishHawk · 02/01/2021 21:30

Today have seen 2 different family households with a group of adults arriving/leaving for visit, neither of which were bubbles. Whilst I was walking past btw not literally staring at my neighbours houses Xmas Grin. People hugging each other goodbye.

I guess everyone just thinks it’s only one little rule break to see my friend, it’s not like I’m at an illegal rave with hundreds of strangers.

hettyhooverdoover · 02/01/2021 21:31

Saw 7 people today walking at the beach. I know its not a big deal but made me think whether I'm sticking to the rules too much as I'd love to meet with my brother, wife and nephew but we make altogether and we haven't as its not in the rules.

WhatWouldPhyllisCraneDo · 02/01/2021 21:32

Today. Loads of big groups of people out walking (highly unlikely they were in legal bubbles)

Againstmachine · 02/01/2021 21:32

This thread should be at 1000 posts shortly as according to many on here everyone they see and even if they don't see them, is not following the rules.

NameChange84 · 02/01/2021 21:33

Friend went off to a house party/stay over to a guy and his whole family that she’d met on OLD for NYE. She doesn’t seem to have returned home yet.

Flats on my street, next to a care home, absolutely full of people on NYE coming in and out, crates and crates of booze coming in...massive party.

Some hairdressers still operating for “select”
clients. (tier 4)

annevonkleve · 02/01/2021 21:35

Lots of people crossing tier 4 boundaries for exercise (with other tier 4 areas, but still technically not permitted. I've done it myself, I can't say anything).

As for visitors, I suspect people thought we were breaking the rules when my mother visited on Boxing Day and stayed overnight for two nights but she lives alone and isn't bubbled with anyone else. You don't know what people's arrangements are. I've also seen people whining in a local FB group about kids playing football - it's permitted even in tier 4. Half the time people don't understand what the rules actually are.

notevenat20 · 02/01/2021 21:36

Almost all the time. There are people locally who say that they have had covid so can have people stay over and their kids can stay over in their friends houses.

Mreggsworth · 02/01/2021 21:36

I saw two parties last night put on Instagram stories. Probably around 7 people at each. Today one of my dog walking aquentences said she was going to a "tapas night" at her friends this evening.

PlonkyPlink · 02/01/2021 21:36

So, I’m not interested in checking up on rule-breakers as I really no longer think that’s the major problem.

One of my jobs is as an out-of-hours GP. In this wave, I’d say 90% of patients I speak to with coughs/fevers etc have not been self-isolating or had a COVID test as it either has not occurred to them (how?!?!) or they don’t think it’s COVID. It’s just so frustrating and demoralising. They’re continuing to work, go shopping etc etc with symptoms. They’re much more complicit in spreading it than a few people meeting the occasional friend outdoors.

ShivD · 02/01/2021 21:37

Today, I’m assuming grandparents, their two adult kids with their partners and their kids. About 9 of them in total.

In fairness we’re a family of 7 so it wasn’t the number of them, just the 6 adults and 3 kids.

HeyMicky · 02/01/2021 21:37

Yesterday, big groups meeting at a local park

laoehruak · 02/01/2021 21:44

My neighbour does it every day, but they are one house out of about 30 who are following the rules so I try not to let it annoy me too much,

finkking · 02/01/2021 21:44

Normally I'm pretty live & let live but one set of neighbours have really pissed me off. Moved in during lockdown, renovations throughout that & summer, then some parties & then they disappeared the Saturday we went into Tier 4 & arrived back today.

bigbluebus · 02/01/2021 21:47

Went for a walk to a local beauty spot yesterday. Saw a number of groups where 2 families were clearly together totalling 8 or 9 people. (We're in a T3 area so limit outdoors is 6)

PoppiesinOctober · 02/01/2021 21:51

A few nights ago on DH's social media. Group of people round one of their houses drinking.

HarrietSchulenberg · 02/01/2021 21:54

Me, now. Ex-H is here to see children (teens and older). 2 different households, both Tier 3. Not officially bubbled up but neither of us has been anywhere or mixed with anyone since Christmas day. Last chance for kids to see their dad before we both go back to work on Monday. We will be forced to break our household bubbles daily from then on as we work with several others so it will be too risky to mix again indoors for a while.

Neighbour across the street was rubbernecking wildly earlier. Hope we provided her with some vicarious entertainment.

Morgan12 · 02/01/2021 21:55

I know about 30 people breaking rules today.

Keepdistance · 02/01/2021 22:00

Not recently but in dc class they have playdates for both dc at peoples houses. When in t3.
If people are going to meet up -stay outside go for a walk etc. Not in cars either.

And dont try to avoid quarantining by getting tested.

Anyone's dc could get say meningitis at any point or appendicitis and at this rates there wont be an ambulance.

TheGreatWave · 02/01/2021 22:07

I don't look for it, though I did see a few children playing together yesterday, however it didn't even occur to me to think they were breaking the rules.

CovidCanDoOne · 02/01/2021 22:07

Me now seeing my son - I’m at absolute breaking point . Crawled into bed at 2pm because I live on my own & I’m crawling the walls & didn’t want to get up.
The loneliness is killing me so I choose life

CovidPostingName · 02/01/2021 22:09

Every day. Every single day. First time was 8am the day we were put in to T4 week before Christmas, 3 cyclists out together. Yesterday was the worst, four families of three and four people each all out together. People either don't know or more likely just don't care. They just don't care any more.
