On my walk yesterday I saw a group of 10 with little social distancing

Do you all get a free iron with your brown shirt?
Just get on with your lives and worry less about what other people are doing.

Bathroom12345 · 02/01/2021 22:15

There was an elderly caller who called a radio station moaning that they weren’t going to have the 2nd vaccine dose. She then said she hadn’t been out since March! The presenter queried this and she then said apart from essential shopping and the hairdressers!

This is what we are up against, people making up their own justifications and then selfishly wanting ‘their’ second dose and stuff anyone else.

DP yesterday. His mid-90s grandad has just recovered from Covid but is still feeling pretty terrible and asked to see him for the first time in about a year. As DP was leaving the house a man passed and said: "Happy New Year - been to a nice party have we?" Confused I know how important it is that we try to follow the rules but sometimes something's just got to give.

QueenPawPaws · 02/01/2021 22:18

About 5 seconds ago - group of 30 or so teenagers with a boom box Hmm being very annoying

grandfromagerie · 02/01/2021 22:19

Get a life

WhatWouldPhyllisCraneDo · 02/01/2021 22:19

@CovidCanDoOne if you live alone then you are allowed a support bubble.

Funkypolar · 02/01/2021 22:21

Do people spend their entire day peering out of windows and making notes?

ermmm2021 · 02/01/2021 22:22

Ok I've nc for this incase the persons on mn and outs me

But on fb earlier I saw people I know blatantly posting pics from their New Years. In a hot tub with 3 or 4 other couples and a few singles. No social distancing at all.

The guy who posted it has a little boy who's about 3 I think. Fucking irresponsible and have lost all respect for them as parents.

QueenPawPaws · 02/01/2021 22:22

@Funkypolar no, I can see out the window all day when I'm working sat under one 8-6, then now I can see out the window when I'm sat on the sofa
I looked because the music was so loud

Ellmau · 02/01/2021 22:23

Not seen, but the drunks were yelling their way down the street again last night.

vodkaredbullgirl · 02/01/2021 22:23

Some people have too much time on their hands.

movingonup20 · 02/01/2021 22:24

Lots of multi generational groups out (unusual do I'm guessing they are here for New Years/lockdown) we also know multiple families escaped London a fortnight ago and came here, 1/3 of our development are second homes

ermmm2021 · 02/01/2021 22:25

@vodkaredbullgirl yep. Lots of it lately as instead of being out with my friends I'm being responsible. If only others did the same.

CloseSchoolsProtecttheNHS · 02/01/2021 22:26

Oh gosh lots I'm afraid. Today for example my daughter FaceTimed her friend and two other girls from the class were with her friend (and their parents were apparently with the parents). My daughter being quite young and straight talking immediately asked them why they were in her house during 'lockdown' and they all laughed and said their mums said it's fine because they're in the same bubble and will be together in school in 2 days. I guess they have a point that if schools are going ahead, they may as well mix other places too.

CovidCanDoOne · 02/01/2021 22:26

@WhatWouldPhyllisCraneDo I saw my Dad on Christmas Day. He’s wheelchair bound & has 4 carers a day. I’m trying to protect him & his carers . They will not cross paths with me (completely understandable- they are saints) but today I’ve reached the end.
My Dad doesn’t want me or his Grandkids not to see each other. He can barely speak but I had a conversation today with my SIL & we agreed it would be irresponsible for my DC to see him - that kills me

vodkaredbullgirl · 02/01/2021 22:26

Well I work nights, I'm either sleeping or working.

ProudAuntie76 · 02/01/2021 22:27

@vodkaredbullgirl

Some people have too much time on their hands.
Some people are sick of risking their lives day in day out in health and social care for selfish idiots who don’t give a fuck about the lives of others and the fact that it’s people like them that are crippling our health services.

Why shouldn't she have gone to the hairdresser if it was open under tier rules at the time?
whenwillthemadnessend · 02/01/2021 22:27

This evening a group of ten teens boys about 16 out in a large group

SquirtleSquad · 02/01/2021 22:28

Me! My mum is our childcare bubble and when she dropped DC home she came in for a cup of tea Xmas Wink

Hangingover · 02/01/2021 22:29

Today. Lodgers went to visit a friend at his home.

Its totally fine to visit a supermarket and go to a hairdressers if they are open in your area and still want a vaccine.
SweatyBetty20 · 02/01/2021 22:34

I’ve been staying local (and as a keen hill walker it’s killing me) but the amount of friends close to me in Mcr posting walks and fell runs in the Lake District on Strava this past week has been staggering.

lljkk · 02/01/2021 22:35

We broke "the rules" today. We took a 12 minute leisure trip on the train - we were 2 of about 10 people on a 120 seat train. Almost Only rule breaking I ever know about is my own. MNers know an amazing amount about other people's lives.

ItsLoisSangersFault · 02/01/2021 22:38

Tier 4- I don't know anyone who is following the rules. It's small transgressions- usually families meeting up with other families outside, or stretching the support bubble thing by bubbling with both sets of grandparents and meeting them inside.
