DH felt ill yesterday - shivery and cold. Temp was fine, then high, then fine again. Had a Lemsip and felt better. Ok this morning but kept taking temp. High again this afternoon. No cough or other symptoms but booked in for a test tomorrow. I text my friend to tell her that he was going for a test as she has to sort out the rota for work and I’ll have to isolate till he gets the results. She was really off with me and has now stopped responding. She said he should have got a test as soon as his temp was high (38), even though it went down straight after. He hasn’t seen anyone in the 48 hours before the symptoms started as he’s off work. We haven’t broken any of the lockdown rules. Surely so many people have it now that it’s not an individual’s fault if they have been careful but still picked it up?

This is what happens when you give people too much information. All your friend needed to know was that your DH had Covid symptoms and was therefore taking a test, causing the need for your household to self-isolate until test result. That's it. No timeline. No extra frills. I have always found that if you go into detail, people will find some way of blaming you if the information causes them inconvenience. Maybe he should have had the test sooner, but he didn't and your friend knowing that doesn't move the situation forward in any way. She still has to rearrange the rota.
@MaryLeeOnHigh but statistically it’s most likely negative. And they’d probably know by now.
With the numbers currently testing positive, I think the statistical likelihood has changed.
