Interesting use of "world class" there.

I absolutely applaud the teaching and education staff in the UK. But they do an amazing job despite shitty funding and stupid expectations.

PandemicPavolova · 30/12/2020 16:23

Our children can continue to benefit of a world class education in the country that has one of the highest covid death rates in the world?.
For a critical couple of weeks whilst hospitals are in melt down?

TeddysTigerEyes · 30/12/2020 16:23

@Crunchymum

He really is an insufferable cunt isn't he?

Excuse my language.

You may have a gold star.
BrightonForWine · 30/12/2020 16:23

@Dogatetheleftovers

Another 50,000 cases today and nearly 1000 deaths, but schools, colleges and universities can all mix!
What? That's the decision? They all go back?

Are you sure?

So when our secondary school going back.

itsgettingweird · 30/12/2020 16:25

Still nothing about special schools.

Why don't they consider them? They are so different and often cross primary and secondary.

The really need to look at them and make an actual decision separately based on science. Rather than just lumping them under the vulnerable children categories.

the80sweregreat · 30/12/2020 16:25

I zoned out.
I'm in a 'tier four hotspot 'so who knows?

2bedammed · 30/12/2020 16:25

Gav is just really weird.

What an appalling statement.

I am shocked that they are not pausing for a couple of weeks at least for primary schools.
Ofcourse they should have provision for key workers and the vulnerable.
They need to do something more serious.

Great news re the vaccine.

I am appalled.

flawsandceilings · 30/12/2020 16:26

So. Primary's back on 4th unless in special tier 4 area. But they haven't said which areas these are.
Secondaries back 18th unless "special".

We're in London. When will the lust be published. By borough or will it be just "London"?

PandemicPavolova · 30/12/2020 16:26

Who is that woman!

Can she guarantee ambulance and oxygen for those who need it in a life and death situation because all the education in the world will not help dd if she is dead.

AaronPurr · 30/12/2020 16:27

This woman is raging with anger. Shock

Crunchymum · 30/12/2020 16:27

@monkeypuzzeltree

It's as though someone has peppered the speech with more commas than he was expecting.

*What?

It's just been announced yes, apart from a few schools in contingency framework areas whatever that means. Primary Schools are due back Monday.. secondaries 2 weeks later due to testing.

theliverpoolone · 30/12/2020 16:28

The Shadow Secretary is raising good questions - none of which will be answered.........

the80sweregreat · 30/12/2020 16:28

So many questions from this woman.
Gav will ignore them all.

PandemicPavolova · 30/12/2020 16:29

She's way off, the whole of Europe is suffering, yes we've been awful but everyone is going through a second wave??

oneglassandpuzzled · 30/12/2020 16:29

Droning on and on.

the80sweregreat · 30/12/2020 16:29

All primaries back then?
What about Essex where the hospitals are under so much pressure ?
Thanks for nothing

Candiscophonous · 30/12/2020 16:29

Let’s wait for the answers here.
It will be an inadequate load of waffle.

Passmeabottlemrjones · 30/12/2020 16:30

Didnt Gav also say that there would be testing in primaries at some point in Jan?

AaronPurr · 30/12/2020 16:31

I onyl heard him mention primary school staff, not students.
RaffertyBear · 30/12/2020 16:31

All primaries back then? - some will close, but the majority will be back with mass testing.
