So upset

Merry Christmas guys, my husband tested positive this morning, and I have also started showing signs so went to get tested. We have a 23 month old who is showing no signs at the moment but I'm so upset that she may/will get it from us.

Has anyone else had a toddler get it and how did you/they cope?

I have such an awful headache I can't get rid of, a sore throat, I ache from top to toe and a heavy chest. None of the symptoms noted by the government, my husband had the same symptoms too.

I'm just feeling sad
@twittwootwittwoo yes they are common symptoms just not the main 3.

The zoe covid app lists them all and is really useful (it's them that got lack of taste/smell added).

Keep up with the paracetamol and keep an eye on it any difficulties breathing and call the NHS.

Children either get no symptoms or different symptoms some it just passes by. Again just watch out especially temperature wise in LO.

Hope you start to feel better soon.
Thank you, thankfully my daughter is fine apart from a cough a couple of times but I think she's copying mummy as she's at that stage.

Also every few hours I'm feeling incredibly sick abs having semi loose bowels (sorry if tmi)

I will have a look at that app

Thanks again

Hope you start to recover soon good news about your daughter.

If possible keep bleach spray handy for if she can reach common touch points so wipe down door handles, baby gates, remotes etc.

If you BF and have extended BF do not stop! The antibody protection through breastmilk has been shown to be high and help protect LO.

Do what you can to keep her occupied it's perfectly acceptable to stick on loads of Disney films!

@Scottishskifun exactly what we are doing, she's looking a big dark round the eyes and she's been asking non stop for boob all morning. This is the exact reason why I haven't stopped feeding, I was done when she turned 1 but then the pandemic hit and decided to keep going on the off chance as my husband works on a covid ward (this is where we have got it from)

Disney plus as been a god send! Luckily she can't reach anything other than the remote and we ve been using clinell wipes on that

@twittwootwittwoo I was exactly the same! My son self weaned at 21 months (also 23 months.
Keep your fluids up and energy level up with what you can stomach little and often nibbling can help if feeling sick - I find biscuits for cheese or oatcakes useful when feeling unwell. Rest when you can and tag team taking day naps with your DH if he's also up to it.

The research has shown that the antibody protection in BM is so high their is a research study in the Netherlands giving donated BM from mums who have had covid to elderly residents to offer them a bit of protection! Clever boobies!

Yes it helps massively the Winnie the Pooh films on it are my sons favourite. It saved us when we had to self isolate due to a case in my sons nursery!
