An Easter break in the uk and a summer break in Normandy. Wonder if they’ll happen, what d’ya reckon?

(both are fully refundable until 24 hours before, so not worried about the ££)

Maybe we should place bets Grin

We’ve just cancelled Fuerte Ventura for Easter, lost £240 deposit, balance was due 1st jan, but can’t be bothered with stress of testing and uncertainty. Was going gi move holiday to a different date but already have 2 transferred holidays for later in the year so didn’t bother.

I’ve booked EasyJet flights to spain for Easter. I had a voucher to spend from previous flights and spain is more like going home for me as my family are there. I am hoping both my parents will have had the vaccine by then. I can always move the flights but really really hope I can go.

@Treeerex

I've just seen an advert for jet2 Holidays and thought to myself 'what idiot would book a holiday now' Grin
An idiot that knows they'll get their money back so won't lose out either way 🤷‍♀️

Same, one for Easter and one for summer... Easter will be extremely tight

bahumbug2020 · 31/12/2020 11:01

I've just booked a holiday to the Caribbean for next October. One of my FB friends is spouting on about travel for leisure purposes being banned forever and only staycations will be allowed. Talk about doom & gloom scaremongering!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 31/12/2020 11:14

Where are you going @bahumbug2020? We keep looking at Antigua

bahumbug2020 · 31/12/2020 11:24

@PinkSparklyPussyCat

Where are you going *@bahumbug2020*? We keep looking at Antigua
Barbados - this'll be our 3rd trip.

Just came across this thread as I’m considering booking a uk holidays for may half term (which is really in June)
Now that we’re in this lockdown with no end in sight, how optimistic are you all feeling? Can’t decide whether to book for half term, summer, or in the autumn... or all three to hedge my bets Grin

Itsamess8456 · 23/01/2021 20:16

I've just cancelled my ski holiday to the French Alps for February 21. It was booked last February when we cancelled Feb 20...

Rollergirl11 · 23/01/2021 20:32

@FelicityBob I’ve been thinking the exact same thing. I want to book a UK holiday for the May/June half term but still don’t know if that’s wishful thinking. Don’t really know what to do about the summer just yet. Would love to go abroad if we can but again I’m not sure if that’s realistic. Think will leave that till summer and perhaps book something last minute. Now is the time I usually book our 2 week summer holiday in August and I really hate not having something to look forward to.

GoodGirlsRUs · 23/01/2021 20:33

We have 2 weeks booked to in France for August. We are thinking we might start to look for a UK alternative that we can cancel if needs be.
