Do you know anyone who’s had the vaccine?

I know two people aged over 80 and both have now been contacted with regards to having the vaccine. One of them is due to have his tomorrow. Have the elderly people you know been contacted/had the vaccine yet?

Yes, a family member in her late 80s in Tier 3. All ok, follow up in early January.

UntamedWisteria · 23/12/2020 08:55

Yes, my parents in their 80s had theirs last week.

So have some of their elderly friends and family.

Yes, I know two HCPs who have had it. One is a GP who was giving vaccinations. They had enough (a few doses left over in fact) to do some staff members and she got lucky.

Another doctor I know (hospital consultant) has had one. Not sure why. He is older, but not over 80.

Not elderly people but I know of two healthcare workers who have had in one in Nottingham one in North Yorkshire.

My 92 year old grandma had her first dose last week. She's in London.

bluechameleon · 23/12/2020 09:16

My uncle. He is in his 60s and volunteers at a vaccination centre. They had some doses left and offered them to the volunteers.

82-year-old uncle who nearly died of a heart attack two years ago has had it in Tier 2 area.

Aunt and Uncle, 82 and 86, haven't (both in good health), their GP surgery sent them a letter saying 'Don't call us, we'll call you'.

SIL who works for NHS hasn't had it yet in Tier 2 area.

DSis who works as admin for emergency medical services also hasn't had it yet. Both she and SIL were expecting to get their first dose before Christmas.

My Auntie and Uncle, mid 80s, had their first dose in Saturday. My Uncle had TB when he was younger, survived lung cancer three years ago and has had pneumonia twice in last three months so I guess he was considered high risk. Tier 3, Midlands.

Bimbleboo · 23/12/2020 09:32

Two. One in early twenties, one in mid fifties. Youngest is a junior nurse, eldest is also frontline NHS and is going to be administering vaccines so was vaccinated herself first.

IRememberMySpaceBabe · 23/12/2020 09:33

One of my mum’s neighbours, our next door neighbours, and a colleague’s MIL. All over 80.

My mum is an NHS worker and in her 70s so I hope she gets hers soon.

I know quite a few. I think some places are doing age order, but at my surgery they are saying it’s alphabetical, so if your name is Wilson time for a quick deed-poll change to Abbot !

It’s so great to hear of all these people who’ve had the vaccine! Smile
