Tier 4... will Argos and Monsoon be open?

We posted DD’s letter to Santa today. The things on her list are all available at Argos and Monsoon. I had arranged a sitter for tomorrow so that I could go present shopping, however we are now in Tier 4 so I’m worried that I won’t be able to get her presents. Does anybody know? Thanks.

If you are new to UK remember to check Sunday opening hours Most in England are either 10 or 11 until 4 or 5.

Try the big supermarkets asda, tesco, sainsburys, Morrison's. I think they all sell clothes / toys.

@HermioneMakepeace

No, I don’t have PayPal. Fuck, I am so angry about this! Bastard people not wearing masks.
Lack of mask compliance isn’t the cause of Tier 4. This is your own fault for leaving Christmas shopping so late to be frank. Be angry with yourself. Surely you should be aware that moving to a new country the week before Christmas in the midst of a pandemic would come with difficulties?

You’ll have to sort your card out via phone/online banking or set up PayPal. Banks in England aren’t open on Sundays and have shortened opening hours during the week since COVID.

With click and collect, you order online as normal (inc full payment). Argos isn’t a niche retailer, everything they sell will be available elsewhere but you have probably left it too late for Christmas delivery.

@sofiaaaaaa What a horrible post. Your words made me cry so much I’ve woken DD up. What an awful person you are. Clearly no compassion.

@sofiaaaaaa What a Class A cow you are! @HermioneMakepeace.Sending you a huge hug.

If adsa is on a retail park thee are likely to be other shops as well that sell toys.
B and M are often nearby and they have a large selection of toys.
On our retail park there is smyths toy superstore and they have every toy you can think of.
Don't cry some people just want to feel superior online because they are twats in real life

Starisnotanumber · 20/12/2020 08:07

Sorry smyths is likely to be click and collect which at the moment is a no go for you but b and m and home bargains were open in the last lockdown so should be open for cash sales

RickOShay · 20/12/2020 08:09

@sofiaaaaaa
Completely unnecessary. Look to yourself.

Letsskidaddle · 20/12/2020 08:22

I'm with @sofiaaaaaa on this one.

If you've come so recently from overseas shouldn't you be quarantining not shopping? If you've been here more than two weeks you've had plenty of time to sort everything out.

HermioneMakepeace · 20/12/2020 08:28

@Letsskidaddle we’ve come from Australia so no requirement for quarantine.

Go to Asda- you will find loads of clothes and toys. My children always wear ASDA. They are reasonably cheap and really good quality. There will be loads of toys and crafts too. What were you looking for Argos? I can tell you what sorts of things they have in our local store. You will make her Christmas special I am sure. Welcome to England- we are not all heartless.

I'm with @sophiaaaa too. We all knew this was coming, should have been more prepared. Asda is your best bet.

You're annoyed and being quite rude about people not wearing masks as you can't go and buy your DD a dress? Shock
Letsskidaddle · 20/12/2020 11:45

@HermioneMakepeace - are you sure about that....

When you arrive in the UK, it is very important that you stay in your declared accommodation for 14 days. It can take up to 14 days for you to develop coronavirus symptoms after you catch the virus and in this time you can unknowingly pass it on to others, even if you don't have symptoms.

This is from your own Australian Government's website. People not wearing masks really aren't the problem.
