The north/south divide still alive and well

So infections are dropping considerably where I live in the North West, we’ve had some sort of restrictions in place since July. Now that London and the South East have an increase in infections they are considering not allowing the mixing of households at Christmas time, my question is would they do the same if the situation was reversed?
I’m also angry that there’s an uproar over tier 3 and how dreadful it is, when we’ve been living with the same up here for months.

I suppose many will disagree, but I feel there’s a real bias towards the North unfortunately.

@Leafyhouse I'd suggest getting some new northern mates if that's the case.

Couldn't agree more. I'm a Northerner born and bred and wouldn't want such petty mates. Nor would I want to be stereotyped as that small minded . I feel really sorry for people and businesses in Tier 4. My personal opinion is that it is partly as a result of London not being placed in Tier 3 when they should have been. (I know many people on here won't agree, I know it's not the whole story, I'm not going to argue the point, it's merely my opinion).

Doesn't London have a significantly younger population than the rest of the country though? You really want to look at proportion of care home residents vaccinated per region and then over 80s vaccinated per region.

@Burpeesshmurpees

That may well be true but we also have the highest number of infections in the country as far as I'm aware...
But the vaccine schedule is based on priority groups, with over-80s, care home residents and frontline health workers in the first groups - regardless of infection rates, if London has a younger population, they will have less vaccines in the age-related groups.
