Have you been invited to have the vaccine yet?

I have close family and friends working in the NHS in a variety of patient facing roles and yet none of them have been contacted about getting the vaccine yet. Has anyone heard of someone who has?

OP posts:
Backbee · 03/12/2020 15:01

Nobody has been given a date for their vaccination

Yes they have.

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 03/12/2020 15:04

Im sure Nicola is desperate to get there first.

Yeah, trying to do the actual job of a leader. Competitive bitch. Hmm

I'm so so sick of hearing this shit. I really am. Grow up.

movingonup20 · 03/12/2020 15:20

My friend has been told definitely next week (major London teaching hospital) but they don't know exactly when their supply is arriving nor quantity.

MissEliza · 03/12/2020 15:23

Grow up. I always find this such an ironic comment.

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 03/12/2020 15:45

Do you, aye. Fascinating.

iloveredwine · 03/12/2020 16:08

My neice has been invited to administer it from 7th December. Large hospital in the South East

Ringading7 · 03/12/2020 16:35

@LH1987

The OP only generally asked a question , she didn’t demand a vaccine. Why are people so mean sometimes behind screens!
Exactly, I’m not even going to get a vaccine!

I’m genuinely curious, hence starting a thread, yet people seem very happy to be rude and insulting, from behind their anonymous screen. Perhaps they’re frustrated at being cooped up for so long?

OP posts:
Greenglassteacup · 03/12/2020 18:31

Ok Backbee, when is your date and time for your vaccine then?!! Nonsense. NHS front line here. We’ve been told roll out from mid December.

Backbee · 03/12/2020 18:43

@Greenglassteacup where abouts in the UK are you? If you are in Scotland then many of our NHS colleagues have dates for theirs, if you are in England then perhaps consider that it isn't the only country in the UK, shocking I know.

junglepie · 03/12/2020 18:47

our trust are booking appointments for staff from Dec 21st. Have to attend main site (rather than smaller satelites) but booking slots from that week.

Greenglassteacup · 03/12/2020 18:53

In Scotland, you sarky piece of work Backbee, they aren’t being given appointments for the vaccine either. It is an estimated roll out date. No I’m not in Scotland but I do have friends who are also front line NHS in Scotland.

Tambourinell · 03/12/2020 18:58

I'm having it Dec 9 x

Greenglassteacup · 03/12/2020 19:01

Is that an aim or an actual appointment? It seems different trusts are ‘promising’ different things

Tambourinell · 03/12/2020 19:07

We have been issued with dates but not times yet, some of my colleagues have the 11th Dec, but it could change as with anything...x

baubling · 03/12/2020 19:09

Could be wrong obviously, but I read somewhere that the vaccinators are going to do each other first. Can't say I blame them.

Greenglassteacup · 03/12/2020 19:11

All we have been told is ‘from December 14th’

Hugosmugo · 03/12/2020 19:14

I know someone who has been told today that they will all get it next week (they are care home staff) they will go to the hospital.

Backbee · 03/12/2020 19:17

I don't think it's sarcy, but people always just think about England on here, it's frustrating.

Greenglassteacup · 03/12/2020 19:20

I was thinking about NHS front line, not England

Hugosmugo · 03/12/2020 19:22

I don't think @Backbee was being sarcastic. Just saying that they know people who have a date for their vaccine. I think you assumed that because you work in NHS front line and haven't yet been given a date that that would mean noone has @Greenglassteacup ?!

Frazzled2207 · 03/12/2020 19:28

More confusion

I assume someone, somewhere has a proper plan.

Frazzled2207 · 03/12/2020 19:33

actually having read that article, the twitter thread from Chris Hopson which it links to, assumes that he does. So if this is right, few HCPs will be getting it next week

NeonIcedcoffee · 03/12/2020 19:33

@Ringading7

On another thread someone is saying their relative has been invited to attend to get their vaccine.

The government are still saying roll out will be from Monday.

Staff have been recruited to administer the vaccine and have been told they will begin at 7am on Monday.

Are you always this rude to strangers @NeonIcedcoffee or is it only when you can hide behind your screen? Smile

That's such a trite mumsnet line. I'm this rude when people ask daft impatient questions. I'm not hiding behind a screen this is how forums work!

One could say are you always this unreasonable? Of all shit to pick at re covid. Complaining about the lack of invites for vaccination, 24 hours after a vaccine is approved. After the vaccine has been created and approved in record time feels a touch unreasonable. But yeah I'm the shitty one.

OnceBitten25 · 03/12/2020 19:48

Front line NHS here - been offered vaccine from next week. Can't have it for another week though due to recent Covid infection. Am in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

timeforanewstart · 03/12/2020 20:19

Only just approved I am sure people will start hearing from probably early next week for those that will get it
I think it will be amazing if anyone can get it before xmas , a few months ago at best we thought we might have a vaccine early 2021 , so to get the ball rolling mid december is great going and hopefully a step to getting back to a proper life
