Want back:

Coffee shops
Live theatre
Concerts
Seeing friends/family without having to count them or pay attention to where we are and remember the current rules.
Holidays

Happier without:

Traffic jams and mass pollution
Crowded airports
The after-conversation when a meeting is over that I would rather not be involved in
People invading my personal space

OP posts:
mineandyours · 28/11/2020 21:25

I want all of the old stuff back.

LizzieSiddal · 28/11/2020 21:29

I want to keep-

Hugging my daughter who’s 26 and works in London. She has been home twice since March, I miss her so much.
Live music and theatre.
Being able to go and do something who out having to think about this virus.

I don’t want back-
-Having to hug and kiss people you hardly know but seems “polite”
-People dragging themselves to work when they are clearly ill and thus spreading flu and other illnesses.

longsigh · 28/11/2020 21:29

Keep- dropping off kids in the playground.

WhiteChocTwix · 28/11/2020 21:31

I want to go back to freely popping to DF care home on a weekend for a coffee and a gossip and accompanying him to the local pub

Want to be able to take DM out for shopping and lunch.

Want to travel, and freely spend time with our nephews and nieces.

Don't want to loose the appreciation for going for a lovely walk with DH or enjoying our home.

Feeling lucky with our neighbours as well, our community has been amazing over lockdown.

bluebearss · 28/11/2020 21:32

Happier without: the in laws Grin
Want back: literally everything else.

sherrystrull · 28/11/2020 21:32

I love the staggered swimming lessons and hope they don't go back. Half start and then 15 mins later the other half start. There's no big queues for cubicles to get changed in and the car park is less busy. Makes much more sense and is much less stressful and busy

WhiteChocTwix · 28/11/2020 21:33

And weirdly I'd like to split my time with work and be in the office 2-3 days a week. Rest of the time WFH. I bloody hate Zoom.

chloworm · 28/11/2020 21:36

I want my swimming pool and local library to reopen. Also a chance to sit in a cafe with a friend and enjoy the festive atmosphere. Tier 3 so no pre-Christmas celebrations here, just packed shops. Also want an orthodontist appointment for my daughter who has waited over a year already. Don't want to go back to being crushed on a commuter train.

MoirasRoses · 28/11/2020 21:39

Would like:
Seeing my vulnerable mum without worry. My child being able to be poorly without jabbing a stick up her nose.
The lack of worry about isolating with a 3 year old.
Staying with family who live 4 hours away.
Kids activities
Holidays
Theatres
Crowds - I can’t wait to be in one and just soak the hell up! Im gona revel in a Christmas market next year!
FREEDOM

What I’d like to keep:

WFH - so much. I do not want to commute again. Hoping as a minimum I can blag just a couple days.
Everyone washing their hands - winter bugs are def down this year
Extra cleaning of softplays, back when they were open again, they felt so clean, you could smell the disinfectant!

sobsanta · 28/11/2020 21:40

Want back:

Clubs with dancing and music
Live theatre
Coffee shops
Drinking until 3am on a night out so I can truly feel like I've punished myself the next day

Do not want back:

Massive amounts of people shoved up against each other in queues
A maskless society if we feel unwell

blackice · 28/11/2020 21:41

Everything

Thickhead · 28/11/2020 21:41

Want back:

Cinemas
Pubs
Christmas Markets
Playgroups
Hugs

Want to keep:

Working from home (my former commute seems absolutely bonkers now)
Zoom meetups with friends
Video GP appointments
General increased levels of cleanliness
Less crowded places / more ticketing in advance for attractions
Less busy roads

WhiteChocTwix · 28/11/2020 21:43

@bluebearss
Happier without: the in laws Want back: literally everything else
🤣Pretty much yep.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 28/11/2020 21:43

I honestly don't mind the masks - I'm not saying they are always comfortable but they are worn routinely in some other countries and I am enjoying not getting coughed and sneezed on in shops. The general improvement in hygiene is definitely a keeper for me. I also like people using hand gel and social distancing (although I don't see much evidence of it any more, hence my appreciation of masks).

MrsBeltane · 28/11/2020 21:48

I would like to be able to be sociable again. See friends, eat out, go to the pub etc.
I don't want my DH to have to commute into the city again. He's happier working from home and it's saving nearly £500 a month.

runningpink · 28/11/2020 21:49

I want everything back. The good and bad. Anything but this really
Most importantly no masks and being able to hug again.

whatwouldyoudo85 · 28/11/2020 21:50

I don't remember having any issues with being regularly coughed or sneezed on in shops. And social distancing is miserable in my opinion. My eldest recently started school and I was hoping to get to know some other parents at the school gate, but standing two metres apart, wearing masks, is not exactly conducive to this.

Not saying any of it is not needed, just think it's depressing and crap.

But I appreciate we are all different and the world would be boring if we all felt the same. You could always choose to keep wearing a mask once all this is over, if you like it.

sociallydistained · 28/11/2020 21:50

Everything back!

EveryYouEveryMe · 28/11/2020 21:53

Respite.

RosesAndHellebores · 28/11/2020 22:00

Want Back
Freedom
Church
Theatre and concerts
Shopping
Socialising freely

Want to keep
No more shaking hands and kissing for the Peace
Quieter roads
More flexible working
More family time; nice walks etc
UK holidays
GP email and telephone access

What can go for good
Masks
Boris, Sage, Handcock
Propaganda
State rule in peace time

Itmaybeus · 28/11/2020 22:03

My top priority is healthcare - my gp has been excellent throughout however I've been waiting 16 months for an operation and no idea when I'll get it. I last spoke to my consultant in February.
I have a dc who is awaiting decisions from an operation in August not heard a thing from the consultants.
Also family being able to visit.

Mumof3andlovingit · 28/11/2020 22:05

Want back freedom to go out wherever we want and whenever we want. Visit family and holidays.

Want to keep social distancing, cleaning stations at schools, supermarkets etc. Not fussed about masks either. Also want to keep working from home, but that won’t happen as not possible for our jobs.

Coasterfan · 28/11/2020 22:23

I want everything back except for driving 1000 miles a week and working out of the home 16 hours a day. I love working from home and I m doing everything I can to get to do this every day!!

HappyPumpkin81 · 28/11/2020 22:28

I want my local soft play and toddler groups back. Sadly that won't happen even if Covid is cured as they have all gone under 😭 I feel so lonely and isolated as a single mum to a toddler.

whatever1980 · 28/11/2020 22:32

Keep
Working from home
Spending more time with the family
Zoom meetings - instead of travelling 50 mins for a pointless 15 min meeting
Not having to be in competition with other parents about how many clubs and hobbies my kids do

Leave
Not seeing my family
No holidays or breaks away
