I return to the UK on 4th December, the day after lockdown ends. I noticed this report being discussed on BBC World an hour ago and it also popped up on social media. Do you think they are testing the waters regarding an extension?

If it goes back to tier 3 it doesn’t seem too bad as things will open back up.

@Hiddennameforever - if they are currently closed because they've been told they have to because of lockdown that hotel has been singled out as other hotels are open for business and taking bookings for lockdown and beyond, just not for people travelling for leisure until after this lockdown ends. Hotels in England have not been told to close because of lockdown at all. You don't say who contacted them. Perhaps it's for another reason.

@Snorkelface
I got no idea who let them know! I'm not close friend with them, only follow them on fb- as she posted it.
I regret posting it here now!

But l thought all the tiers were moving up?

We were in Tier 3 so would now be In Tier 4 whatever that may be.

Well I am WFH and doing all the right things and only going out for walks/exercise (as I was on the shielded list). Not seeing my mum or anyone else.

I heard very loud raucous laughter yesterday afternoon and my neighbour and his wife (late 60’s) had two friends round in their side garden, today they have their son and GS round and in the house (not in a support bubble as their son is married). Other people seem to be doing what they fancy and justifying their actions as the schools are open and so are random shops.

I think the lock down will end at some point in December to give the economy a boost (many people will go mad spending and celebrating and things will kick off again in January just after NY and the public will be blamed).

Still no household mixing though even in gardens, only allowed in a public space like a park could you see anyone outside your bubble rule of 6 applies

@MercyBooth

Theyd better stop showing all these Christmas adverts featuring Christmas shopping and family get togethers then. Because if this is extended people wont want salt rubbed into the wound. It will cause resentment and anger to build and i wouldnt like to see the result of that.
Yes, the M&S advert 'one way or another, I'm gonna meet you' etc...

I was very Hmm about the lockdown-busting lyrics.

@Hiddennameforever

Also someone who works and run their hotel in central London received an email to let them know that they have to be stay shut until 1st of March.
Who was the email from?

@MoonJelly

Friend who works in a publicly funded organisation has been told that lockdown will be extended by a week, and will almost certainly be reimposed in January.
