Of course - no one has a crystal ball (If you do , please share what you see in it!) but I wondered where you think we will be in 6 months time in regards to Covid-19? (May/June 2021)

It is hard to predict due to the nature of the beast but my predictions are as follows:

  • Roll out and regular use of tests with results within 15 mins
  • Roll out of a vaccine across higher risk groups, perhaps include those above the age of 50. Possible roll out of 2 vaccines, Oxford and Pfizer
  • Social Distancing and other measures still in place but more industries opening up, particularly retail units
  • Increase in travel corridors due to testing at airport entrance points (possible vaccinations?)
  • Development of better treatment, fingers crossed for lower deaths and hospital admissions

Overall I think we will be in a positive place!

What are your thoughts? Feel free to disagree with me!

Being a Debbie Downer for the sake of it and then calling it 'cautious' or 'realistic' is pretty pointless too

I didn't call it "cautious" you did, i think as an interim report, its very positive.

What i won't do is build up my hopes and then see them dashed, especially if it doesn't halt infection but reduces symptoms.

But you like name calling and bullying anyone who doesn't support your view, so i'll leave you to it.

Came across this article and thought it was very relevant to this thread!

First paragraph -

'The pandemic may seem to have gone on forever. As we approach the end of 2020, it is easy to lose sight of how much progress science has made over the past 10 months. Since January, scientists have gained a far better understanding of Covid-19 transmission, and have developed the tools to manage the virus. In fact, while the next four months will be difficult, the promising vaccines, better testing and treatments and greater knowledge we now have about how to control this virus will make the situation far better by March.'

It talks about other developments and how far we have come in the last year or so, worth a read :)
